Simple Recolor - Veranka’s Conversion of Aurora Skies Clothesline Art
So I've been MIA lately since I have been having computer issues, but now that I have it worked out, I am in the process of going through my files. This is something I just found (as I am transferring files) that I did a long item ago and never released. It isn’t big, just a few recolors of the converted Sims 3 Aurora Skies clothesline. I’m a sucker for clothesline art in the sims…anyway, four recolors of the original includes Finger paint, pasted collage, hand prints and kids drawings. Nothing else changed except the textures. **NOTE** you need the mesh to make this work! (the recolors are meant to go with the originals anyway) Download it here: Veranka’s Tumblr
A big thanks to Veranka for converting this. I always loved Aurora Skies <3 #Recolor #Sims 3 Conversions #need mesh #artwork #deco #kids

~Rustic Spring Dining Decor Set~ I made this to go with my Tillage Set but really it can go with anything. All the pieces are clutter or plants and are there to brighten up your sim's life. They are all set to have no footprint so technically your sim could eat and not be disturbed. Once again I recieved wonderful help and guidance from the member's of this forum. In this project particularly, inabadromance, j, and mathcope helped me problem solve (I hope I didn't miss anyone!). Thank you! For more detailed pictures see my tumblr: Simphony no. 4Includes the following items:
Name: Rustic Spring Place Setting Cost: 42 Category: Clutter Note! This mesh is 1494 Polys (at the LOD0), so a tad on a the high side. But imo, nothing spectacularly high. Name: Rustic Spring Table Runner Cost: 42 Category: Clutter Note! This comes in two sizes - standard EA table size and a longer version for cc tables that are a tad longer. It is meant to fit the Tillage Table (so it is made to that size) but the Tillage table is a little longer than normal; so I made a standard size one too. Note! This is supposed to be placed on floor (not on table), but it will appear as if it is sitting on the table. You don’t need MOO on to put it on the table. Names: Rustic Spring Water Glass & Rustic Spring Wine Glass ( two separate items, but share same swatches, prices, categories etc.) Cost: 42 Category: Clutter Name: Rustic Spring - Glass Jar with Daises Cost: 22 Category: Plant Note! Three swatches include a traditional white daisy, a purple (African Daisy?), and the yellow daisy shown in the picture. Name: Rustic Spring - Small Jar with Baby’s Breath Cost: 22 Category: Plant Note! No variations Name: Rustic Spring - Glass Jar with Peony Cost: ….22! (no way, not 22 too!) Category: Plant Note! Three swatches with variations of pink but not different variations of flower. Also, this is supposed to be a peony… but to be honest, it looks more like a rose. I realize that, but I am still going to call it a peony… For my TOU see above, or see here#Dining #Decor #Clutter #Spring #Rustic

Welcome Deb! Welcome Tufftango! I hope you have a good time hanging out here tufftango I use GIMP, but I have heard that paint.net is easier (better?). GIMP can have a steep learning curve and has some quirks... but I'm not sure how it compares, I'm too stuck in my ways to change now...

I'll try the tiny little solid; I tried the llama and was having issues with it for some reason.
**update** I did what you said J and that worked well; the glass is just like I wanted it. For some reason, when I cloned using the llama even when I had the same texture & spectacular the glass looked different.

What do you mean reset? like their stats? or their whole self?
I haven't used soaks in a while, I'll try to check it out tonight!

yea, I tried to do the tutorial wingly, but think maybe it was done with a different version of studio, because my names and categories were totally different :( So I was just hoping that someone knew of a glass mesh that didn't need to be changed

I am wondering if there is anything that I can clone from EA that is just glass (no solids like g.father clock)? I looked and I couldn't find one ; has anyone found/used one?

I have a place setting that I made & textured it; it looks fine in studio, but in game it has a weird line on the fork area. I checked the uv, the mesh, the spectacular, the normal, everything that I could think of that might be causing that line. Not sure, what it is....any ideas? (p.s. i just show both the image with and without the spectacular, not because I think it has anything to do with spectacular but just because it shows up in both. Also, without spectacular isn't really "without" it just has a blank one.)

Moon My approach to UV mapping complicated things is just to do it in chunks (even if it is already joined together). I use a variety of different methods. If there is something with a shape I want to keep you can go into the ortho view you want and do project from view, other times, like if you know it will be a square you can just do the regular uv map, but sometimes smart uv can be handy for parts (it projects it a tad differently I have found). I rarely mark seams anymore, unless the uv map isn't getting me, since I just do it peice by peice and that seems to work a whole lot better for me. So like do one pillow and then another and then the sides etc. With the legs, you could do one leg, and then do another and then another, and have them all stack on top of each other. I guess mainly what I mean to say is it takes practice to find a way that works best for you.
