(I've managed to solve this by using a different dress that only had one mesh group and then with the skirt and top, I joined them together and gave them the same cut number as the dress with only one mesh group).

Hi, I am Jindann. Stay in Indonesia and very interesting with creating object or something in the sims 4, i am not good in English so you can imagine how stuck i was to understanding some tutorials... Hi! I've got to say, English is my first language and I have been learning French since I was 6 (school rules and bla bla bla). I still can't get the hang of French and I've been learning for years. I've got to say, I admire all those who can speak multiple languages- you are actually amazing at English! If you ever don't understand a tutorial in the tutorial section, you can always PM me with the link to the tutorial and I will make you a tutorial of my own with less descriptions with words and more with pictures (not meaning to patronise you c:). This goes for anyone else too who has English as their second language, or even if it is, you can always ask me c: ~ Kate (GeometricSims)

Hi! I posted on your other question 3 minutes ago but some of the problems here look like problems that I have encountered (don't worry, I've literally only just learnt to make custom meshes, still got one more thing to ask someone- eeeee). If you would like me to give you a step by step guide, I would be willing to do that for you.
(Also, do you mind telling me what time zone you are? Because then, if you would like, we could PM and it would be a faster experience than keep posting and waiting for responses).
I would be able to tell you how to do it just now but I am uncertain of the meshes that you are using in the pictures you have shown.

Are you new to editing meshes? I'm in the process of learning it. If you are new, then have you changed the cut numbers?

orangemittens What do I do in the situation that the full body item has different mesh groups and cut numbers for the top and parts of the arms and then the top that I want to make into a dress only has one mesh group and cut number for the top and the entirety of the arms?

eronoel Hi there! I am currently learning coding on a site called ALISON- there are loads of courses on there, from personal trainers to even full university courses from Harvard! The site does not only offer tutoring in coding, but in many different subjects too, such as art, photography, so pretty much every subject you learn in school and more. It's a really good website and when you finish the courses, you get a certificate to say that you have done a course. Best of all, the site is free. (I sound like ALISON are sponsoring me to say this omg )

Hi, I'm Kate and I am fairly new to the Sims as I have only played the mobile game and The Sims 4, which I downloaded on February 16th 2016. However, when I become obsessed with something, I play it non-stop, so I would say I know a lot about The Sims (granted, mostly about the Sims 4, although I have watched countless videos of the other Sims games on YouTube). I am currently learning how to make custom content and I am hoping to become a frequent uploader, but it isn't easy at first.
So, about me: I'm female and I am currently studying. For my job, I want to work in computer programming/design as I have a love for computers. I am currently self-teaching myself coding from an online website. I love computers and making custom content is really fun for me. I'm not very interesting, but I can do the rubix cube and then change the middles of the blocks of colours and change them back (random fact).

orangemittens I have looked into the cut numbers on the meshes. However, with the dress that I am making, I have exported multiple meshes from the base game to make the dress (for example, a skirt and a top). When doing this, I am unsure how to change the cut numbers on the seperating meshes. Additionally, this one dress' mesh that I have exported has 4 layers of meshes (s4studio_mesh_1, s4studio_mesh_2, etc), all with different cut numbers. I'm so confused . If what I'm asking is too long to explain, don't hesitate to link me to a pre-made article. Thanks again.

I have recently read the tutorial on how to create custom furniture in Blender, but have not been able to apply that to creating custom content clothes. However, whenever I seem to finish a project on Blender, I can't seem to get it open in S4S. I have been able to export meshes from the base game and open them in Blender. I have also been able to manipulate them well. However, I always see problems when I try to import the file into S4S I have tried to manipulate a single mesh only minutely, but even then the content does not work. I don't get an error message, the content simply stays the same as it was before and doesn't come up with any message whatsoever. (Sorry if I've posted this question in the wrong place, I've never posted before )
