Hello there, I'm in love with neon signs and have been trying to make one, but when I try and merge the text with the sims 4 mesh, it turns into a blue/purple color and some of it disappears, if someone could help me with making one I would greatly appreciate it. Thank you

I've only made a neon sign once. I cloned a neon sign from the game and looked at the textures in Photoshop. All I did was replace the text in the same color grey as the original, and tried it in game, and it showed up exactly like the original sign! It looks good, but at the time, I didn't edit the normals or speculars, but it still looks pretty good! If you open it up in blender (if I remember XD), you'll probably see some lines that indicate what parts are which color, so the red lines around the text show the text will be red, and the blue line around the rest show the outside to be blue. It was some time ago, so I don't fully remember if this was actually in blender. Can you post a picture of what your sign looks like right now?

I've been working on this for hours and still can't figure out how to make a properly working neon sign. It's hell. I need help but there are no tutorials online. I've even tried to look at neon sign mods and see if I can sort of make my own from studying those. No luck.

imgur.com/pQPNSkzThis is what it looks like. I want to make a large sign of an anime girl. I have no real Idea how to make it glow. It's more or less a re texture of the bunny totem sticker in the game.

I've taken a look at that and find it extremely confusing and a bit difficult to follow

I'm glad other people are also having trouble with this. Neon Sign This is the one im trying to create but one of my issues is that there are faint orange marks that i'm not sure how to get rid of Also I'm not sure how to change the color on these, I tried to make it purple but in game in only had faint purple marks on it. If anyone could help it would be greatly appreciated!

You cloned the same sign I did. The orange is supposed to go around the text to give it the effect that it's a nice, bright glow. Try seeing what it looks like if you make the text thicker!

acetrainerkyle64 the item you cloned was a decal so it doesn't have the correct shader and that is why it is so dark. Clone one of the neon signs that are already in the game to see what the shader settings should be, then change the shader on the one you shared here to FULL BRIGHT. You can follow THIS tutorial (it is a little out of date for the UI but the process is basically the same) Your texture should also have an alpha channel/transparency unless you want the whole square to glow. datgirl1065 I see in your screenshot that you have not adjusted the specular and bump/normal images, these are the cause of the "orange marks" you speak of. In order for the purple color to show as "more purple" it needs to be much darker. Share the .package and I can illustrate what I mean.
