To change the object definition open up a lamp item and click the Warehouse tab. Copy the two lines indicated in the picture below and paste them into the corresponding place of your deco item to make it act like a lamp in the game. By a different clone I mean I think this project might have an improved appearance if you use the encased scrolls as your clone instead of a lamp.

Thank you! As you can see it's a bit better but it's not nice and the light doesn't work! I used the Dog statue for the mesh! Download

I looked at the item and I still think you need to choose a clone that is more like what you're trying to end up with. I looked through the catalog and there is a base game lamp (raw industrial lamp) that has the exact characteristics you want yours to have. It has a glass lampshade and you can see the glass bulb through the glass of the shade. I transferred your mesh and texture to that clone and it looks like this in the game: EA's Sims 4 lamps use a gradient vertex paint system to enhance the effect of light shining on the object. Clone a lamp, switch to solid shading, and switch to vertex paint mode. You will see that unlike other objects, lamps have vertex paint that ranges from white to black. This is what gives a little boost of realism when they are lit in the game.

Instead of just making things transparent, I was wondering if its possible to completely make objects invisible, and do I take the same steps to do this? I'm trying to go extreme LOL

Is this tutorial in need of an update or do the objects I keep looking at happen to not fit this? Because when i click "Meshses" the only options that show up are things like "Dropshadow" and "Phong" not "ModelMesh."
(I'm actually wanting to reverse engineer this, as I am trying to override the default water glass in game, and I got it to stop being transparent, but it still has this glass effect and i want it to look wood instead..)

Sims4Studio has been updated since this tutorial. Click "phong" to access the area that has the shader dropdown menu that you're looking for. It's confusing, I know. :(

Hi! I followed this tutorial because I needed my 'sit-on-the-floor' dining chair to be invisible. I made a completely invisible texture (black alpha), but I still see the object in game previously I followed another tutorial basically allowing the object I cloned to have transparency and then adding an invisible swatch, but then I couldn't click/grab the object anymore in game when transparent... Do you know, mabe there's something in between, when I can have my object transparent but also clickable?
