I was wondering if this can work for hiding in-game walls? If I should post elsewhere, please let me know, thank you!

Hi spacemermaidx, it should work for walls also. Clone the wall as a default override and click into the Warehouse. Select the first Wall resource. Change the DevCategoryFlags field as shown. The last two characters should be either A0 or 81 depending on what you find there: Repeat for each Wall resource that you want to hide (the various choices each wall has).

Hi is there a similar way to make custom hidden or unbuyable objects/clothes? So that they would show up in game, but not in CAS or Build Mode?

Hi ardellaine, custom objects will work the same way as EA items do. If you change the DevCategoryFlags as shown above, the CC item won't show in the catalog. How are you planning to get the item to show up if it isn't in the catalog? CAS items have a field named Show in CAS UI. If that is checked, the item will show in the catalog. If it isn't checked, it will not show up.

I'm not too sure to be honest, I'm very new to modding. I'm looking for a way to replicate the function of things like career outfits or various NPC clothes, like the Grim Reaper's, where the player can't easily access or buy them, but they appear in game. However the only tutorials I can find are for unlocking items not hiding them. Is this possible in Sims 4?

hi there im new here and would like some help please ... i am in process of trying to hide ea clothes and furniture etc from the catologue/cas menu. i have followed every step exactly on the tutorial but items still showing in game and on s4s. for ea clothes i check override box and click cas.i choose all variations of the item i wish to hide e.g yuhat-newsboy and i hit next. i then name the file yuhat-newsboy and save to desktop.i click categories and untick all boxes while applying to all swatches and then save. i then click warehouse and i have 5 cas parts files like u said then i exit. i load in sims 4 but the item is still there :( i then reload s4s and item is still there as though unchanged. i have tried moving my yuhat-newsboy to my mods folder and still doesnt fix my issue. again i followed you tutorial on hiding ea furniture down to a t but still same issue. please help

Is there a way to hide the objects in the catalog, but still show up in search?

That's very good to know. Thank you! I would also be interested in the reverse variant.
Example: You want to use one of the terrariums and use other animals as decoration or change the color of the terrarium. This is all great but the object is and remains marked as Hide and does not appear in normal purchase mode :(
Is there a possibility or a trick?

This is a great tip. Thank you so much for sharing it. I tried it, and it works, and I love it. I want to block a lot of the maxis twin bed swatch's from showing in the game, but I don't see the beds in the object pictures I get in step 3. Am I doing something wrong, or are certain objects just not available to edit in this way? If I remember right, I think I figured in my case it was showing about 3000 objects in the list, but I only own about half of the packs. I think I'm more excited about deleting part of the content than I was about getting it in the first place, lol. I like to customize things to death.

My bad. I found them all. 19 beds turns into 193 counting all the swatch's.

Hi laralu93, welcome to Studio forums. Clone the garment you don't want as a default override and do the tutorial steps up to step 4 using that instead of an object. Once you're in the Warehouse click on the first CAS Part line on the left side. On the right side scroll down until you see the Part Flags section. Remove the check mark that is in the ShowInUI box. Repeat for each of the CAS Part resources. Save the .package and put it in your Sims 4/Mods folder. Hello. As I was hiding some Tops with 15+ swatches, it took a lot of time. However I realized that I only need to change the Part Flags for one swatch in the Warehouse and then, going back to Studio>Categories>Flags>Apply to all swatches and done. Didn't have to change swatch per swatch anymore.

I noticed that a searchbox was added in the data tab since last time I did these. Makes putting in the "Dev Category Flags" soooo much quicker. Thank you!
