When you add a new resource in the Warehouse Studio will give you an empty one. In the case of resources, like light resources, that haven't really been investigated much this will put you in uncharted territory that's begging to be explored. The U's are unknown, unsigned integers. The purpose of fields named this way is not known. Studio is slowly filling in U's with something meaningful wherever possible. If you discover the purpose of any U field in the Warehouse it would be great if you could share that so Studio can get rid of more U's.

I see. I don't have the patience to venture into the darkness so I'll just keep the spotlight light.

I haven't messed with any of the other unknowns yet, but I know that U2 changes the radius for pointlights. light on the left has a U2 of 2.25 and the one on the right has a U2 of 1.25

You should make a tutorial/thread about everything you know reg. lights on here, Omorfi. Like even the different types. I only know what a PointLight and a Spotlight looks like. Bet tons of people would find that useful, it's one of the reasons I hold off on creating lamps - I know I'll struggle with finding a suitable lightsource.

Here is the unedited U2 image u1 - left is .15, Right is .9 (still has a u2 of 1.25) u3 - left is .2, Right is .9 (still has a u2 of 1.25)

*gasp* I think I figured something out. I imported the lightsource of Torcher Inc. (the lantern) and been playing around with Transform values. Managed to lower the source. The value is 0,-1.5,0

Yay!! I feel like we need to pop some champagne for this occasion XD What did you change?

The transform value, 2nd number. I didn't know if putting in my own number would work so I was careful and first used a value of one of the other lamps (Photonic Conserver), whose source appears to hang lower. That did lower my light a little bit. So I then I started putting my own number in, and -1.5 seems to work perfectly with the bulb.

Ah, I knew it was the z coordinate! It was driving me crazy but it looks like I didn't make a big enough change in the numbers. This is very good info. I'm happy you got the light you wanted ^__^

Lol J. It looks like you got the lantern to light the way Thanks both of you for the info. Banishing U's from the Warehouse is a good thing.

Thank you OM and OM. Yes, I indeed knew I'd need to fiddle with Z axis, but after the fiasco of trying to work out the coords for some furniture slots and failing miserably, I assumed it would be an equal headache with the light position. Turns out it was easy.

From my test, it seems like U1 is the radius of the light source. U2 is the max radius of the light region. The luminosity decreases at the space between U1 to U2. I still have no idea about U3, but higher value increases the whole intensity of the light. U4 ~ U9 still unknown.

This thread has been really helpful as lights have been a source of frustration for me lately. Although I am still stuck on a particular issue, while trying to sit out my recent illness I have been actually playing my game the way I used to and have noticed that the Lilacs and Lantern tree I used for the Tree Of Life has a single light effect stuck in the truck of the tree. I have no idea why I didn't notice this until a couple of days ago but whatever. I looked at the numbers in the warehouse and blender to see if I could find the effect and move it forward but have realised that although this tree is a light it's missing a few things the other lights have. The numbers of the lights in blender don't exactly match any of the lights in the warehouse plus this is a single effect I'm trying to move not the light source that seemed to move with the lantern. I am going to give it another go later but any suggestions would be gratefully received.

Working now on the spotlight. There are three vectors, V1, V2 and V3 in the spot light and each vector has three values, I'll call them V1-1, V1-2, V1-3 ...etc. In EA's setting of all spotlights, V1 is 1,1,1 and V2-1 is 1. Changing them shows no effects. So these value might not be used in spotlight. V2-2 to V3-1 control the direction of the light. V2-2=x, V2-3=z(height), V3-1=y. V3-2 is the cut-off angle in degree. In the picture below, from left to right are V3-2=10, 40, 90 V3-3 is always 4. Still unknown and no effects on changing this. I'm still wondering what the "At" means....
