Is there a way to edit the light source on a light? Simple: I cloned off a ceiling light, but my lamp hangs lower. So right now the light source is too high for the pendant that is meant to be emitting the light. Complex: I cloned from a light that only has 1 bulb (and 1 light source), but my light has 3 bulbs. Is there a way to clone to the light source so I have 3?

Hi, J. I've been struggling with this as well. The best I've been able to do was export the light source from the Scrivello Pendant lamp and import it into my object. It doesn't fix the problem completely but it's one of the few hanging lamps where the light doesn't touch the ceiling.

Interesting, thank you. The light actually goes very well with your lamp. Mine has a large pendant and it's only slightly lower than the original (the lantern ceiling light), so that light won't really make much sense. But regardless, could you tell me how you exported the light source? :-)

Sure thing. You can try exporting/importing several different types of lighting to see if something might be a better match. Much easier than having to clone a new object every time.

You can edit the light resource through the Warehouse. For example, I took a ceiling light and edited it by removing the point light it had and adding a lamp shade light. I changed the color of it to aqua too. On the left the large rectangle indicates the drop down where you can choose the type of light source and the small rectangle indicates the Add button that will cause that type of light to be added to your .package. You can use the Remove button to remove a single light or the Clear button to remove all of them at once. If you want additional identical ones you can use the Copy button. If you use the Add button you will get a new light of the type you selected but it will be an empty...that is you will have all blank fields on the right and will need to supply data for those fields. Here is the original EA lamp (left) and the new one I made (right): and this is the same lamps but with their position swapped: To change the position of a light change the Transform numbers. The thing with adding additional ones is that EA's lights don't seem to be exactly located in some defined area...they're more like a general glow. Before I removed the point light I tried duplicating it and moving the position of the duplicate. I could definitely tell a difference in the game but all it seemed to do was double the intensity of the light rather than making two discrete patches of light.

Interesting, thank you OM. I actually found that Photonic Conserver's (GTW) lightsource fits my lamp perfectly, so I used Omorfi's suggesting, but I'll remember to check back to yours if I ever need a more custom job.

Yes...Studio allows for editing that is a lot more precise than bulk importing some other light resource but it manages the bulk importing very well too

The transform numbers appear to work in the same fashion as the slot transform numbers work. That said, some lights are hanging below 0 and I haven't done enough work with those to know how that affects the transform numbers. Findings regarding that would be helpful. I think probably the easiest way to change how much territory is covered by the light effect would be to change the intensity. Again though, I haven't done a whole lot of experimentation with that yet so findings on the topic would be helpful.

I thought I'd give this thread a bump because I'm in the process of working on another lamp. Anyway, none of the in-game lights suit my WIP so I thought I'd use OM's suggestion to tune stuff in the Warehouse. I'm not really sure what I'm looking for, so I've been testing different things out, and recently imported the Scrivello lamp's lightsource as a starting point. The "type" of light is set as Spotlight, and it makes no sense for my kind of lamp (since it doesn't have a lampshade), so I removed the Spotlight and added a new type and chose PointLight. However, upon adding the new type, my properties window is quite a bit different to the window that was there with the Spotlight. I had to choose my own colour, intensity and other things because everything was blank. I also have a bunch of things called U1, U2, U3 to U9, I've no idea what they are. So I filled it out the best way I could (chose a colour and intensity myself, copied the transform number from the old Spotlight), and my light no longer works in-game.

Hi, J. Instead of using the add function, try importing a pointlight source from an object that's already using it (ex: candle). This will allow you to just adjust the settings instead of having to start from scratch. I believe the U numbers control the radius of the light and the Z coordinate (center) in the transform line should allow you to move the light source up and down.

Ah, for some reason I thought you were referring to a table lamp (was thinking about your industrial one). The Reclamation Homeware Ceiling Lamp uses a pointlight as well

Nope, I mean the you-know-which-one. I'm aware of the lamps that have better sources. The one I originally cloned off of had the same one, but it hangs way too high. The only reason I went with Scrivello's is because while it's shaded, it has an appearance of hanging lower. Is there a way to lower the source then, so I can just go back to the un-shaded one?
