You fix it by changing the cut number of your mesh in Blender. If you aren't sure how to do that please check out one of the object mesh tutorials in this section.

I think I am close to ... if I understand correctly I have to select an object and enter the number next to the "cut" in "scene" right? But how do I know what number enter? PS (Type must be geom right?)

You are correct. When you first open the EA LOD you exported from Studio make a note of the Type and Cut of the EA mesh. Your item will have to have the same Type and Cut:

Hi orangemittens. I'm trying to follow your great instructions but it seems that the link to the clip tools is not working. Can you help me?

Hi carolingio, welcome to Studio forums. It looks like the link was another casualty of One Drive's elimination of support for shortened links. I've fixed it now. Please let me know if you run into any more trouble downloading Clip Tool.

This didn't work for me :( I've done this process to convert some trees and stuff like that from TS3 to TS4...I did everything correctly and I have Blender 2.70 but every time I try to import my tree's or plant's mesh it will either be invisible or it won't appear at all :( I get an error message where it says something about traceback: most recent call last and then it throws a bunch of numbers and other thingies that I can't understand at all..
OrangeMittens please respond back to me! I really need Midnight Hollow stuff in my game...

Without a full error message, I can't be of much help.

Ok I undestand! Here:
Traceback (most recent call last): File:C:/Users/user/AppData/Roaming/Blender Foundation/Blender/2.70/addons/scripts/addons/io_s3py_animation.py line 109 in execute obj=load_object(objd package) File:C:/Users/user/AppData/Roaming/Blender Foundation/Blender/2.70/addons/scripts/addons/io_s3py_animation.py line 132 in load_object vpxy=first(package.find_all_type(VisualProxy.ID)).fetch(VisualProxy AttributeError: 'None type' object has no attribute 'fetch'
location:<unknown location>: -1
That's what pops up every single time I try to do a tree or a bush (Built Mode items?!) This actually creeps me out kinda...anyways hope you find this helpful OrangeMittens! Please respond ~Thanks~

Hi giannisk13, if these are Sims 3 trees and bushes they are not standard items...they're SpeedTree items. ClipTool was never designed to work with SpeedTree items. To the best of my knowledge, there is no Sims 3 tool even capable of pulling a mesh out of a SpeedTree item.

thanks for this great tutorial, orangemittens.
I would love to have the sims3-modells (character modells) as .blend-files to create animations in blender. Unfortunatelly the link to the sims3-rigs is not working anymore. Could you please re-upload them or describe how to extract them from the game (if that's possible)?
