What part did you find hard to follow elanie? OM has a written tutorial, and I think there's even another video tutorial up.

Thank you so much for this video. I was able to make my first recolor ever I was following the tutorial posted by Orangemittens, which is great, but I found myself cursing in Blender. I was thinking there has got to be something easier. Here it is!

It can take a little while to clone the object Hansversion, then it will ask you to save it.

Hi hansversion, welcome to Studio forums. If this is still an issue please post in the bug thread for whichever version of Studio it is you're using. The problem isn't the result of the tutorial and trouble-shooting it is best done elsewhere so this thread stays on topic

Hello and thank you for the tutorial! I follow step-by-step, and everything was working great...until I tested it out in game. It shows the original painting object and not the one I made/recoloured. Also once I clicked the painting I choose to recolour my screen went black, is that because I tried to recolour it? OR another issue with the game itself. I pressed my windows button then the "prt sc" button and clicked back into game and that is when I could see that my recolour did not work.
Nevermind your an angel, I just clued it it was a standalone item.

I saved my painting as a DBPF package in the mods folder like I was supposed to. however, I can't pull it up in the game. the dds file just is not there when I go into my gallery. can you make a video of this step?

Hi donkeyjawbone1, welcome to Studio forums. I'm not sure what you mean when you say the .dds file is just not there when you go to your gallery. If you have created a .package and it's giving you trouble someone will look at if for you if you post it.

they are saving as package files (not dds -- sorry). I tried putting them in both the mods folders of (Sims Studio and EA). It does not seem to recognize them in either mods folder. how and where would I post it? thanks, D

I believe I am supposed to be putting the package files in the:
Documents > Electronic Arts > The Sims 4 > Mods
folder and that is what I am doing. however, when I go into the game and try to pull up the files, they are not there. These files are recolored/revised paintings essentially.

That is the correct place to put the .package so it shows in the game. I think posting the .package you made would be the easiest way to figure out what's going on. To post a .package you need to put it in an online storage space and then post the link here in this thread. If you don't have online storage space both One Drive and Dropbox are excellent, free online storage spaces. I wrote a tutorial showing how to get and use a One Drive storage space and that is posted here: sims4studio.com/thread/2364/get-drive-post-files-online
