It was a Rough Draft Idea....A Hill and a Sphere were the last of my worries - ha! Getting that Muppet into Pose, geez - that was a Blender Workout this afternoon. Should have it finished Tomorrow afternoon, Crashtime. Wednesdays are horrible, Wifey goes onto POGO.com and it's like - Where did the IP Bandwidth go?!? That friggin' Pogo....blah, spaterz!

My problems with Joining 2 Object Meshes into 1, Blender will always keep the Mapping from 1 Object Mesh and Ignore the Other you are Joining. I normally set up my Custom Map first - Map the more complex object and Join, (Highlighting the more Complex mesh in Blender...select the other and Join.). This leaves the less complex mesh blank - i/e: You have to unwrap and re-map. As you can see, my Rock above was non Complex mesh - Hence, it was unwrapped again and re-mapped. You can clearly see, my Mapping skills are not very good....hehehe. Normally, it would involve a Re-color to make it look better and then the recolor would be imported to S4S. °Just explaining my - "Method of Madness". Just as a side note in regards to combining meshes. If you rename the uv maps to be identical when you merge the 2 meshes they will not lose their mapping.

I am trying to get 3D Studio Max on this machine, I have been using that for years, but my subscription ran out, so I'm digging out my old Max 10 CD. I did find a tutorial using the decimate. The reduction I got wasn't very substantial and I could probably just make a lower poly version myself much quicker and in a tool that doesn't behave weirdly. I hate blender. I do want to add some more designs to the object, and I am guessing there is a tutorial on that, so I will probably go figure that out now. I will be a pro in a week...

Just as a side note in regards to combining meshes. If you rename the uv maps to be identical when you merge the 2 meshes they will not lose their mapping. I don't understand, why this never worked for me. When I make a Custom Map - I click on the same map for the Texture Assign in Blender. EXAMPLE: My Base Sims4 Object - The Garden Rock is Imported and Mapped with the Custom Map - Exported and overwritten as the same Blender File. My Sims 2 Object - The Figurine is Imported as an .OBJ file and Mapped with the same Custom Map - Exported and overwritten as the same .OBJ File.
°Then, I re-open the Master Sims 4 Rock Blender File and Import the Sims 2 .OBJ File - They were both previously Mapped with the Same Custom Texture. Hit, "Join", - and everything goes South of the Border....hahaha! And when you Re-UV Unwrap the Mesh in Blender....Blah! It looks horribly different, compared to the first time around - have to re-scale, pinpoint what is what - etc.

I think the problem lies in the Custom Map - Taking the 2 Original 256'ers and slapping them onto a Custom 512x512 - In order to have 1 map with both original textures....does something, with the dimension read.(?)
°Or, a 256'er and a 512 onto a 1024x1024....(You know what I mean...).

Blender isn't so horrible, Trust me - went from using Milkshape in Sims2 - to Blender now....and I am a Babbling' Bufoon. The Staff here can help you with most anything, I'm pretty sure MisterS can help you with 3D Studio Max - if you need, he makes some really Cool Meshes with that! When you become a Pro - please remember us little people....and that Debug Waterfall....(hint, hint..). Hehehe.

In blender s4studio_mesh_(number) will have uv_0 and uv_1 (or only uv_0), you should rename your new object's uv to uv_0 BEFORE you merge the two items. That being said, when you merge the two items you should always select s4studio_mesh_(number) last. If you need further help you can always share your project and someone will assist you by pointing you in the right direction. (Side side note... I also use 3DS Max)

Monthly? Surely that is a mistake, and was supposed to be annual. Someone just made a mistake. Definitely. Software companies aren't known to be unreasonable, right?

Dang, I still haven't gone to driving school. To drive a regular car. Not like I can afford a car anyway, but my dad insists I need this skill. I don't know if I have the guts for this. Besides car costs so much in gas and taxes, it's surprising the gas companies don't give them away for free, for just how much they make off the drivers. That's what printer business does, printers are super cheap, but then toner is super expensive. And I think phone companies do something similar, but I wouldn't know, I'm so backwards with phones.
As for modding, I wanna make some stuff for my new sim. I made her after my freaky forum avatar. Oh yes, I laughed a lot when creating this. But I can't find mustache for ladies anywhere, same goes for green raccoon hat and those geeky glasses. I haven't tried making any CAS stuff before, and I'm afraid it might take so long I'd abandon the project before it's finished. I like my new sim, but she just looks too pretty at the moment. Even with that large chin.

Just to make sure it's understood, the Chat section is sort of a general forum where a thread isn't really considered highjacked unless the OP feels it has been. The staff here is always just a PM away if anyone feels uncomfortable with posts made that seem to be highjacking their thread. On the other hand, the other forums at Studio are topic oriented by necessity and off-topic posts there cannot be allowed. If anyone has questions about either 3DS Max or Blender I hope you feel comfortable and welcome to post those questions in the Creator Help section. I assure you the thread you start *will* stay on topic and non-contributory posts will be moved elsewhere.
