Welcome drakharis to the S4S community! I'm sorry to hear about your bad experiences in the past with other creators not appreciating your attempts to help them. I'm sure that this community will be a great home for your cc creating journey! There are tons of members who are very experienced in the program and are always willing to help out any creator in need of help! Apollo and Calvin are adorable and it's interesting to hear about your professional history and insights with 3-D modeling. Hopefully, with whatever help you need, you're able to make some crazy mods for The Sims 4 and I can't wait to see them!

Hi everyone!
I've been playing sims 4 (and sims 3 before that) for a few years and find that I am becoming more and more of a screenshot taking, storytelling, sims-lit writing type of player. Making things is just how I have fun. Never was much of a "game-playing" person. The sims is fun for me because I can use it as a set of tools for making stuff (houses, characters, stories, pictures...). The more I get into the storytelling though, the more I find I need cc and mods to get the effects I want for my screenshots. And although the cc making and modding community for sims 4 is totally awesome (and I use a lot of what's already out there) I can't always find exactly the thing I want. So I figure it's high time I learn how to make my own, which is why I've joined sims 4 studio. :-)
I have art background and some (very entry-level) exposure with Blender 3D, but the rest will be totally new to me. Pleased to see that there is such a good support community here. I will most likely be asking questions!

Hi everybody, My background is in lithography and etching, but without a printmaking studio I've been working in 3D to scratch the itch for a creative outlet that's process intensive. I've been reading tutorials here and I'm almost to the point where I'm making mod content that I'm happy with. Thanks to the Sims 4 Studio team for this great software and documentation. Looking forward to posting on an old school phpbb forum again

I'm a writer too and I've always loved using the sims to make my characters and to act out their day-to-day lives. I love it when people are able to use the sims as a medium to tell their stories. Feel free to make your own little forum for your stories HERE if you wanted to. I'm glad you're taking the initiative to start making your own cc. A great place to start to check out our tutorials HERE. If you ever need any help, don't be afraid to ask for it HERE, though try searching the help forum beforehand and see if someone with a similar issue to you has already been solved and see if that helps! It's great to have you here and I hope your cc creating journey goes smoothly! Looking forward to posting on an old school phpbb forum again Hi there! Lithography and etching is such an amazing art that I suck at! Props to you for being good at it! I'm glad the tutorials have been good for you. As always, if you need any help with anything, you can ask for it HERE, but don't be afraid to look and see if someone with a similar problem has already been answered (though, you won't be penalized for asking the same question twice or anything lol). I can't wait to see what you post in the future! Best of luck!

Hi! I am not currently a modder or creator of custom content, though I did a little bit back in the days of The Sims (Sims 1). I have been playing the Sims series off and on since 2001, never been a daily player, but I still enjoy the games (yes, Sims 1,2,3, and 4). I also occasionally play Sims Freeplay, and tried out Sims Mobile (might get back to that this summer when my hours are reduced in the off-season). I downloaded Daz 3D, and Gimp, and Blender, but concluded I am better at bookkeeping and payroll than modding, at least for now.
Given enough time and money (or a free course), I might eventually learn Python - I took some coursework in computer programming in college about 25 years ago. Never again, however, will I take the intermediate programming course before the beginning programming course... (think trying to program arrays and pointers at the same time as you are learning the programming language, for those in the know) that was the mistake I made in college since the beginning course was recommended but not required (it should have been!). As a result, I ended up majoring in accounting instead of computer science. Just think, I could've been helping fix the Y2K bug almost 20 years ago if things had gone differently.

Hi.
My first memory of the Sims was watching over a friend's shoulder while she played Sims 1 as we couldn't afford a computer let alone a computer game.
Now I can afford both, I'm getting picky about what colour my fake objects are.
Mostly I've ended up here because I want to recolour things to fit my personal aesthetic preferences. Especially now I've got Get Famous (which my S4S apparently can't find? help?) and I love the high end chairs/sofas but I loathe the majority of their colour schemes and want the ones from the high end basegame chairs and sofas instead.

I'm sorry to hear about your bad experience in college. Even without knowing how to code Python, hopefully you'll still be able to create the awesome mods of your dreams with the help of S4S! Hi there! I love recoloring things as well (and by that I mostly mean adding a black swatch to virtually every item in the game). Whenever a new game comes out, make sure you re-download the lastest patch of S4S to have access to items from the new pack! Hopefully that's just the issue at hand! Happy simming! Hi! Hi! Luckily for you, there is very little programming involved if you're using S4S! If you're feeling up to it, I'd check out some of the tutorials HERE to get a hang of how the program works! I hope your testing leads to great results!

I didn't actually install the studio until after I had Get Famous and Seasons. I tried reinstalling it. They still won't show up. And there is a thread about it in the Common Problems thread, except I get 'Oops there was an error! You don't have permission to access this thread' when I try to click on it, so I don't know whether what's in it would be helpful.

Hi I'm Suanne and I'm an over 50 Sims player from Houston, Texas. I began playing with The Original Sims and was a mod for the Yahoo group Sim Watch. I really enjoyed creating CC recolors for The Original Sims and Sims 2, though I never really shared any of it. I'm trying to get back to doing recolors now on my MAC.
My adult daughter also plays the Sims and we often enjoy long stretches of time not talking to one another while we Sim together in my home office. LOL

One of the greatest things about the Sims community is that it does not discriminate by age as some other gaming communities do: the sims is for anyone any age! It's also nice to hear that you're sharing your love for the game with your family. Recoloring clothing and objects is super easy with the help of S4S and any photo-editing program. There are a couple of recoloring tutorials on our masterlist HERE, be sure to check them out if you get stuck at all. And, of course, feel free to share your creations here when you're done! Someone, somewhere will most likely want it for their game!

grumpystrawberry, I have restored the thread you were looking for to the Creator Help section. It had been inadvertently moved to our outdated threads archive. You can find it HERE.
