Hello,
I am having an issue quite similar to some other threads I saw. A CC top that I am recolouring has a specular issue. The bottoms show through the top, as pictured:
Things I have tried:
- Adding a new specular map/specular mask that are pure black
- Adding a new specular map/specular mask that are black except for the parts where the diffuse texture is (white in that area)
- Pressing 'Make Blank' and saving that and trying it
- The steps Andrew laid out in this similar thread: sims4studio.com/thread/22929/s4studio-save-specular-maps-anymore?page=2 He mentioned the following:
When I checked the Warehouse, the CAS Part resources had numbers that matched the Type/Group/Instance Number of the single RLES file already. There was nothing I could do within these given steps, as the numbers were already there.
I am on the latest version of Sims4Studio (just downloaded it this morning).
I greatly appreciate your help, thank you.
Edit -
Further investigation shows that if I open the original Seasons coat from the game, take the Specular Map from there and export it, and import it into this package, it works correctly. But no other speculars save correctly, Sims4Studio deletes the specular.mask.png and replaces it with a fully black one. I do not know how to stop this from happening.
Sorry for all of the edits, I was actively trying to solve the issue myself.

If you need to manually fix a package before then, you can delete all but one of the duplicate RLES in the warehouse, write down the type/group/instance number of the RLES, and paste that into the "Specular Map" of each CAS Part resource in the package. Once they have a number other than zero, you can use the Studio tab again to re-import the specular if necessary.
