How is this supposed to work on a skirt mesh? I would think it only works on the nude top and bottom because they are skintight meshes with no bump map to speak of. I'm trying to make a dress and I can't find a game mesh that I like, nor can I figure out how to get rid of the pesky bump maps/normal maps. Even though I've tried replacing the map with a blank file in S4PE I still see the light outline of the maps when I load in game. :\

It will work for the parts of any top or bottom that are up against the Sim If you are making a recolor you haven't replaced the bump because it is only present in the .package if you have cloned the Geometry Resource and that is only cloned when selecting to make a full mesh. Garments frequently have three images besides the diffuse. The shadow, the bump, and the specular. They can all be swapped out using the Warehouse tab in Studio so there is no reason to use a second tool for that. The specular is a special case because no tool available is able to get it out of the .package in a form readable by a 2d editor. I wrote another tutorial on how to manage that situation and posted it in this forum.

That's what I mean.. I used the warehouse tab to replace what I assume was the bump map. The shadow would not allow me to import a file and replace it. I'm not sure what the specular is.. can you link me to the thread?

Hi! I was trying to make the peplum top strapless so I thought using this transparent method would let me achieve that. But when I test it on my sim the peplum stops at the waist and looks skin tight. This only happens when I use this method but when I just do a normal recolor of the peplum its fine. I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong.

Is there a way to make the mesh transparent?

amoursimmer, this method does not add a mesh to the naked top so all it can achieve is skin tight clothes that are limited to either the top or the bottom depending on whether you're using the naked top or the naked bottom as your base.
hayny, I may be misunderstanding the question but for Sims 4 CAS items there are two shader possibilities that allow alpha...SimSkin and SimGlass.
