Thank you sweetsorrowsims! I sure do miss being in Kenya and Tanzania, my biggest dream is to go back and "do it right!" And believe me, that desire grew even bigger when I went over my old photos, amazing place, amazing people, just... amazing!

J MzunguThose are some very nice pictures! That photo of the male elephant staring at you is awesome! And you were only a couple metres away from a hippo? You did know those are some of the most dangerous animals in Africa right? And sorry about the following, but I just have to improve you for some animal names On the first photo you see some Green monkeys. The first photo where you talked about wilderbeests, aren't wilderbeests. Then 2 photos after that one, you talked again about wilderbeests, a bison and gazelle. But actually, the one you were thinking was some sort of bison IS the wilderbeest! The one before that, you saw a golden jackal (the fox) and the birds I reconize are the secretarybird (The big one on the right) and in the tree and on the ground are suburb starlings. I can't see the 3 birds in the middle good enough to see which species those are.. Then the big group of "Bisons" are water buffalos which also can be very dangerous. The pelicans are actually grey crowned cranes. A beautiful bird! Anyhow, you made some awesome photos!

Im surprised I even could remember some of those names. I corrected the names, and yeah, being more alert now I see that the buffalo and the wilderbeests are just that. When I were going over these pics it took me two hours so I rushed it in the end when going throu the names and pics as fast as possible to get it done. (In my defence however - the safari driver did point out alot of animals and said the wrong name a few times that we noticed, so) And yes - we sat and ate on the campsite with a hippo a few meters behind me. The campsite had like an electrical fence a few meters up the shore, so the hippos would come and watch us eat, lol. They never charged or even came close to the fence, those particular hippos were very use to the campers so they dident care too much, but Yes - I do know they are like the most dangerous animal there. I were more concernd with the rhino who was loose

J Mzungu nice pictures the Rhino Baby is so cute Thanks AsyliYeah, he was a cutiepie but did was really weak when we saw him, so when I read two days ago that he had died a few months later after we were there - I wasent surprised but still it's a shame, there's almost no white rhinos left and he was such a cute little one aswell.

I were more concernd with the rhino who was loose I can imagine you will have a lot of photos and it took you a while to sort them out for this topic. I'm very happy you did as those are some incredible beautiful photos among them. That's very weird if even the safari driver made mistakes about names! Probably they think, those tourist believe everything I say, so I can say whatever I want. Cool that you could see those hippos from up close! Even with a fence in between that's just super cool! And you must have been very brave with the rhino as they already told you that it could be dangerous. It's a very nice photo too, just as the baby rhino by the way!

Lol Bakie Im sure the driver just dident know better - he was not actually employed at the park. He was just a driver in Nairobi who drove us there and drove us around for those three days. His english was halfbad so maybe he just mixed up the names, for example he first called the cheetah a panther first and then he changed it to leopard. It took some time, I had like 200 pics from just the safari, and then like 1000 from the entire trip. Thank you, puts a smile on my face on this crapaholic poo day! I've found it that "dangerous" animals dont often react if you just stand still and show no fear but also dont make anything to threat it back.

And I think your right about the dangerous animals. Although Rhinos also have very bad eye sight, so maybe he didn't saw you at all. He could only smell and hear you. (I'm not saying you smelled bad, he can also smell fresh lemon and flowers from your hair shampoo or something.... ) :P But this also sort of counts for animals that are afraid of humans. One day I was making photos of roe deer in the forest nearby. And then after some mosquitoes nearly killed me while I was making photos from a couple hundred meters away, I turned around and there was a roe deer just 30 metres away from me looking at me! I think he must have thought I'm no real danger to him as I didn't pay attention to him. It was kind of special he was just staring at me from such a close distance.

Just saw your corrections! You've got a really good sense of humor! And that counts for all your commentary by the way.

BakieWell on that pic he was just passing me by but he did probably see us before that, because I had been standing there for some time. It's hard to explain. I know they have bad eyesight though, so who knows?! lol I just couldn't pass the opportunity to take a picture of a real rhino just a few steps in front of me, with no fence or anything between, lol, the others ran away and were like "WHAT ARE YOU DOING?! YOU COULD HAVE BEEN KILLED?!" I live in the northern of Sweden and there were in the news a few weeks ago a man who had a bear running towards him, and he actually "made himself big" (stretching himself and sticking his arms up) and then he ran towards the bear and made this big roar and the bear got so scared he ran away. lol. I'm so thankful that all animals don't understand how easily they could kill us. I can imagine being that close to a roe deer must feel very special, I guess when you tell that to people they are like "Cool" and your like "No, you DON'T understand how special that is" lol So, your really big into take photos of animals? Is that you primary "object" to take photos of or do you like taking other kinds of photos? Thanks for the humor remark, I use to say "Funny is all I have!" Which is true, lol. You're pretty funny yourself there, Mister!

You're pretty funny yourself there, Mister! I think I would have done the same in your situation with the rhino. It's not something that happens everyday, even not in Africa. About the man and the bear, I think I saw a video of that some weeks ago....*searching the internet*...FOUND IT: I think this is what you ment right? And you're right about the roe deer. But it's really something some people have to experience their selfs to understand how special it is. Especially when you're staring right in the deers eyes and he stares right back at you, not moving at all. Just those couple of moments before he things: "I have more things to do, have to eat more grass, find me a girl and make little roe deer...Make your photo and go home!" And yes, making photos (AND Videos) of animals I love most. But not only mammals and birds, but all kinds of animals. I made some nice videos about insects too on my youtube page, like this one about Dragonflies. Those eyes! It's ashame some people can't see the beauty of insects too: Can't imagine "funny" is all you have, you must have SOMETHING more! And thanks Madam!

YES Bakie - THATS THE ONE!! He was on the radio and he sounded so chill about the thing "I've meet bears before... its not so dangerous" "Make your photo and go home!" I hope he did find a girl and made little baby roe deers too. I'm amazed the bugs on your YouTube channel dont flee. You must be really slow when you go in to shoot them, I assume, so they dont get scared away. I like pictures of bugs, It's really intressting because you see details on they you dont see in Real Life but... when I all of the suddent became scared of birds, I became scared of bugs too. sweetsorrowsims - Thanks... Looking at those pics I'm pretty jealous of myself. It dosent feel like I was there, it feels like it's someone elses photots. I still cant get to grip with it, lol.

I've smashed them against some trees first before making the photos... No I'm kidding, I would never do that! But you're right, to get really close to almost every animal, you have to move really slowly. One thing about bugs with wings, they have to dry their wings in the morning sun before being able to fly. So if you go out on a sunny early morning to see dragonflies or other flying insects that can't protect their wings like ladybugs can, look for fallen trunks or rocks in the sun where they go to enjoy the warmth of the sun to dry their wings and get some energy. Those are the best times to make photos of them, as they're not that fast in the morning. I also really like macro photography because of the details. Flies become some sort of aliens that way So you're scared of anything that flies? Birds, bugs, bats, flying fishes, flying squirrels?
