So I just figured out how to recolor a painting with my own stuff and now im trying to figure out how to do recolor a bed but im having a heck of a time trying to find a tutorial on how do it. Can somebody point me in the right direction of one? I just wanna put my own patterns on the bedsheets and leave the frame the same.

The process of recoloring a bed is the same as that of recoloring a painting. If you aren't sure which parts of the image correspond to what parts of the object, this tutorial HERE (uses a bed as an example item) may help you.

All my recolors look grainy, especially black recolors, and have nasty grainy spots no matter what I do, I'm using paint.net.
Is it paint.net at fault, or S4S the issue???

Hi FallenNights, various factors go into the in-game appearance of a recolor, so it's difficult to know what the issue is with your item without looking at the image and the package you've imported it into. Also important are the settings you have when saving and the file type you're saving as. Are you using .dds or .png?

Hi, I've just started doing recolours using Sims Studio Wishes, and whenever I test it in-game it comes up completely transparent, like, it's not even there. The swatches and everything work in the catalogue but when placing it, it's invisible. What am I doing wrong?

When i go to recolor an object, nothing is loading or showing up, the screen just stays white. Help? OK, so i figured out the first problem, Duh configure game path, except... my game is stored on an external hard drive due to very very very low disk space on my Mac, I keep trying to configure it to the external harddrive and it is not working whatsoever.

Is there any way to transfer colour schemes from one piece of furniture to another quicker than recolouring and saving the thing every time.
Also, if I want to copy an existing colour scheme from something like the Ocean’s Current Loveseat to something like the Listless Divan, what is the best way of doing that so the colours are identical.

Yes! I would love to know that too. I'm struggling to change the Get Famous "Queen" stuff to gold that suits - Listless Divan, Book Repository, Wardrobes, Guilded Shelf etc but haven't been able to. I don't understand the recolour technique really because it doesn't show how to recolour, just how to replace the image of a painting which isn't recolouring to another colour which has textures etc. One of those couches (listless divan) has the gold I want but the couch has animal print as the main colour. I want the couch, wardrobe, shelf etc to be that dark gold and bit of white as the wood so complete inverted, but can't make it work. I would love to make all the stuff in that dark gold and white but can't switch it or replicate the gold properly and have it the same in all the items.
I know how to replace some of the colours and adjust with hue/saturation, adjustment layers etc in Photoshop, but not anything else. I seem to get nowhere trying to change any of the content or custom content the way I would like to - Create my own doon covers etc. I think having the mac is part of the issue because you are limited to what you can do on Sims4 Studio. It's amazing you can create anything and I'm appreciative, just frustrated about finding ways to do anything on the mac when most of the tools are windows based.

I am using Sims 4 Studio 3.1.2.4 (Wishes) and followed this tutorial to create Object Standalone Recolors of the plant 'Passion's Kiss'. This object is originally only available in one color (pink). I attempted to make a total of three swatches for my recolor. I don't understand why the first two swatches seem to be linked to the same texture png. For example, if I make a purple texture recolor for the first swatch, and then import a blue texture for swatch two, swatch one turns blue as well. Swatches three and on are separate and work fine. If I delete swatch two, swatch one's texture disappears (and vice versa). Is there a way to fix this redundancy? (I'm sorry if i'm overlooking something simple, I did try reading here and there in the forum but couldn't find a solution) My package file for Passion's Kiss bush recolor: www.dropbox.com/s/hvnx79q8s80o71a/flowerTest.package?dl=0

Hi shirokuma, this is a bug, and Studio will need an update to fix it. Thank you for pointing this out.

Hi, it is possible to recolor the EA objects in itself? not cloning or creating another one, just replacing the textures the object has by default.

So...I'm working on my first recolor, and I'm doing it with the "Classic Movie Keepsakes" wall decor. I have been able to look through the tutorials and figure out everything except how to change the ingame item name and description. It's driving me insane. The only related places I could find I already changed, but it has no affect ingame, I guess? It just continues to display EA's object name and description. OneDrive link to copy of .PACKAGE file x
EDIT: So I literally don't remember what I did because I got angry and just started clicking on things, but it fixed the title. Problem is, there isn't a description selector at all now so it just shows up as *DEBUG* for the description.

Hello! I've recently taken on the task of 'repairing' the Movie Hangout Stuff items with all the paint chipping on them. I'm having issues with the dressers if only because they're all so massive, have so many angles to account for, and A LOT of chipped paint. Trying to fix them normally leads to me messing up the texture. Does anyone have any tips as to how I can get this project rolling again? I've managed to fix the dining table and even added another swatch. I'm still fairly new to the CC scene, if im in the wrong thread please direct me to the right one. Thank you to anyone who answers!
