Hi. Tuning is not my area of knowledge, but since we do not have regulars knowledgeable on this subject, these questions tend to stay unanswered, so i guess something is better than nothing. How ( i assume) it is done: 1. create your food items from the existing ones 2. find an item that behaves similar to what you want ( a seed pocket); 3. clone it in s4s and check what tuning files it uses; 4. import this tuning file into this package, give it new unique identifiers so that it does not conflict with the original tuning; 5. add xml files referenced in it, make them unique as well, modify them so that instead of flowers or vegetables, it gives a sim your custom food items; 6. change the names of buttons, if needed; 7. replace other resources ( meshes, textures, etc) This one shows how to do steps 3-4 this tutorial does not do exactly what you want, but it is probably the most informative one on the subject of making functional items, certainly a must read if you want to get into this
