I am converting a costume dress from toddler to infant. I just noticed that with certain poses the arms glitch and part of the mesh (the wings) moves with the arms and it shouldn't. Is this a weight issue? Something with the mesh group or cuts? I am not sure how to fix it. This mesh has a ton of geometry groups in Studio and I don't know why either. HERE is the blend file and HERE is the package file if you want it. My other issue is that this dress has a pair of shorts under the skirt which should be opaque but look weird, and I assume it has to do with the transparency of other parts of the mesh. Hi. The original dress, ifBody_EF48Dress, is split into meshgroups for a different reason. You must replace a meshgroup in the arm area with a meshgroup in the arm area, not something else, and so on. - open your blend; - join all parts of the mesh that need transparency into one. Some of these parts are duplicated, so delete them; - give this joined meshgroup 0001 cut and 0000 to the other one, save; - clone iuBody_EF48AlienDiaper, change this in the warehouse; - add new meshgroups for transparency; - import your blend heres an example of how to add new meshgroups. Here the package contained 3 meshgroup per lod, yours has 1, so i modified the text - Tools - Modding - Embed all externally referenced resources; - select the first Geometry in the list, click on Duplicate, change the last number of Group's number to 1. Select the second geometry, duplicate, change the number to 3. You do not need to add transparency to lod2-3, it wont be visible from afar; - choose Region map, click Edit items, choose Base, then again on Edit item. Select the first entry in the list, click Copy, select the second, copy. Select the fifth entry, change the last digit to 1, select the sixth, change to 3. Save all changes; - select CAS part, in the search bar to the right type LODs, Edit items. Same process: select Level 0, Edit items, copy the first entry, change the last number to 1. Repeat with Level 1, changing it to 3; - select the added geometries ( at the bottom of the list), change their shaders to Simglass; - save package, import the blends, edit textures

I definitely did something wrong because now when I put on the dress my sim disappears. I updated the links in the original post.

You duplicated the wrong groups and changed wrong numbers. This package already has geometries that end with 1 and 3, so you needed to change them to something else. - clone iuBody_EF48AlienDiaper, embed the resources, change that pack-related setting; - you will see 4 geometries. The first one is from LOD0, the second is from LOD1. LOD2-3 do not need to have transparency, it wont be visible from afar; - you need to duplicate these two geometries and replace the last digit to create a unique group number; - so select the first one, click duplicate, change 8075469 3 to 8075469 5, for example; - select the second one, duplicate, change 8075469 2 to 8075469 6; - change the shaders of both of these geometries to Simglass; - Region map - Edit items - Edit items, copy the first two entries, select the 5th one, change the last digit to 5. Select the 6th, change it to 6, save everything; - CAS part - LODs - Level:0 - Edit items, copy, change the digit to 5; - Level:1 - Edit items, copy, change the digit to 6; - save the package; - import your blend; - add textures, save, check in game; - only once everything is fine, add other swatches and textures

I started over. I figured out that the outfit works fine when there is only one swatch. I did everything you said and tested it in-game and it worked and there were no arm issues or issues with the mesh moving (the wings move with the arms). Then I added the rest of the swatches and tested it in-game and now the arms are broken. I have no idea why this is. The links in my first post and previous comment are the same and are up to date with the most recent files.

sorry for the wait, please bump the thread if you get no reply in 24 hours everything is done as it should be and behaves correctly in my game can you try this item on a default baby, with no cc at all?

I tested it with no other CC (except my default replacements) and it still happens. I have tested it in-game and the issue exists there as well. I'm assuming you are not able to re-create the issue, so I took some more screenshots to show what I'm talking about. The wings on the mesh move when the infant's arms move. This does not happen with the toddler version of the outfit. I am also having this issue with another dress I just converted where the skirt moves with the infant's arms. the skirt just received weights from arms, you can see and edit this in blender are these custom cas poses? if yes, the problem is with them probably, in my case infants move as intended, arms dont twist only wings are moving incorrectly for the same reason as the skirt on the second outfit When you convert content from toddlers to infants, there is no need in re-doing anything other than the shape

How am I meant to fix it? I did the weight transfer the same way as before. It isn't just with custom cas poses, it happens when I click the traits and the infants move.

It is not a matter of weights transfer settings but the shape of the dress. those areas of the skirt are closer to hands than to legs, so they receive weights from hands
Just delete arms from the reference, delete all vertex groups from your dress and retransfer weights

When you say delete arms do you mean delete the vertex groups?
