When I try and open S4S my cursor loads for like a split second and then does nothing. I believe I've downloaded everything I needed but it still gives me this error. Please help and explain to me how I can fix this.
Description: A .NET application failed.
Application: S4Studio.exe
Path: C:\Users\Piggie\Downloads\Sims4Studio_v3.2.1.7 (Star)\S4Studio.exe
Message: A JSON parsing exception occurred in [C:\Program Files\dotnet\shared\Microsoft.WindowsDesktop.App\6.0.29\Microsoft.WindowsDesktop.App.runtimeconfig.json], offset 0 (line 1, column 1): The document is empty.
Invalid framework config.json [C:\Program Files\dotnet\shared\Microsoft.WindowsDesktop.App\6.0.29\Microsoft.WindowsDesktop.App.runtimeconfig.json]
Ive ran the net repair kit / ran as administrator / removed firewall / windows defender / restarted multiple times / you name it. No idea where to go from here..

Hi. You need to install net framework and s4s first, and in correct locations. Files must not stay in Downloads folder Here’s a detailed instruction sims4studio.com/post/192873

Ah, I see.. so I noticed where D drive is an option but is there anywhere else Im able to place the files? My D drive is a bit broken atm.. sometimes it works and other times it cant be detected :( so I try not to put things in there just incase something breaks. I do have an external HD (E) if that would work, though. Also Im unsure what the reccommended locations are, when I download .net it doesnt give me a reccommended location.

Just install it where it want to go (basically, click Next constantly) Same with s4s, by default it goes to program files (x86)

Did exactly the steps I was supposed to, let them download in the paths reccommended, and for some reason it still just refuses to open. Gives me the error I had in the first place :(
I had opened sims 4 studio once before but after that it wouldn't budge. I really wonder what the problem is here.

Yeah, everything is correct
Try this ( if havent done that ): - go to Documents and delete Sims 4 studio folder from there, then try again; - if wont work, try searching your computer for everything that has Sims 4 Studio in the name

Uninstall .NET Desktop Runtime and uninstall Studio, as well. Find and delete any folders that belong to Studio, then restart your computer. You need .NET Desktop Runtime 6.0 at minimum so if you're having trouble with 6.0.28 you can try another version. I'm currently running 6.0.24 with no trouble. Install .NET Desktop Runtime first, then install Studio. Make sure you've made an exception for studio in your antivirus. And I don't know if you've tried this but you may have to just wait after launching Studio. It can be slow sometimes. When you first install Studio it will have to read all of the game's files which takes forever but even after that sometimes it takes a while to launch. At least it does for me. Edit: The download page says that you shouldn't have to install .NET Runtime as it should already be bundled with .NET Desktop Runtime, but some people have had to install .NET Runtime, regardless. So, that's something to keep in mind.

I think it works on my D drive because my mods folder is also on the D drive.
