I cannot find a Mods folder under Sims4. The only place there is a Mods folder is in Sims4 Studio. How do I fix this?
OK so I believe I found the folder. I enabled mods in the game, and copied all the files related to my custom item into the Sims 4 Mods folder. It it still not showing up in the game. How do I fix this?

OK so my Sims game had an update a couple weeks ago and now all the Mods don't work. How do I fix this?

Hello, I am currenly trying to recolor an ottoman and import into game. I have done this with several different items and furniture. But for some reason now the ottoman I am attempting to re color is showing up incorrectly in the game. As far as I know I am not doing anything different than before. Hey so I've been having a problem when I save the object in a file at Step 4 it saves as 'Sims 4 package (*.package)' or 'Sims 4 World (*.world)' instead of a .png file ect and they are he only two options then when I try and open it with both Paint and Photoshop it won't open :( I've tried a few things and I can't seem to change it please help

I'm a noob myself but I think I can answer some of these questions. mdk if you're still wondering, everytime the game updates it turns off mods for you so you have to go into the game options and switch them back on. A bunch of script mods have been busted by the last update so you'll need to re-download the fixed versions if you have any of those. Most everything else should still work though. betsybooop when you save it in step 5 it's supposed to be a .package file. It's not until later (step 8) that you get the .png file that you can open up with paint/photoshop. First you have to create that .package file because that's what your mod is going to be, that's your whole project, then from the original file you can get the texture pictures that you can use as a guide for your own recolor, which combined with the mesh make up an object. If you think of like a painting for example, you have your canvas or your mesh, and you have the stuff drawn on it, which is your texture and then when you put the whole thing together it makes up the .package file. What you gotta do is first create the package file, which should be a copy of the other one basically, then when it opens it for you (almost immediately after you make it) it'll show you the textures you can export to use as a guide for your own recolor. |

Hello,
I'm new - really new - to mods and CC, and I've tried to follow these instructions, but my Wishes won't/can't find my CC. I've put it in the proper folders, I'm just not sure what I'm doing wrong. There's no error code, just no CC thumbnail for me to click to make my standalone re-colour of, and yes, it is also missing from the list (I searched by name and scrolled down). Please help!

Hi rini1031, if you're sure you have the item in your Documents/Sims 4 Studio/Mods folder and it still isn't showing up on the clone list, I can take a look at the item if you PM it to me. |

How would you make a recolor of an object that came with the game from an EP for example, without including the mesh? Does this tutorial work for that?

yes. as long as you have the expansion on your computer it should work fine. you'll just need to tell the people who'd like to download the recolors that it requires whatever expansion you're recoloring.

Does this only work with the Sugar version or does the Wishes version work as well because i just installed Wishes version and this wont work
