Call me stupid but when i click on standalone recolor i only get 5 options that have nothing to do with the .package i copied to my game's mods folder and the documents mods folder :( -studio recolorables 1x1 box with glass -s4s recolorables studio painting -studio roof preview house -studio recolorable 4x4 rag and -studio recolorables studio painting 3 tile square what am i doing wrong? ive seen videos with hundreds of items showing up :( Not stupid! I had the same issue, fiddled around a bit and figured it out. The "Mods" folder in the Sims 4 Studio directory has, I believe, been changed to "Recolorables".
So all you have to do is put the CC you want to edit in there, then follow the tutorial

I’m trying to recolour the screen options of an iMac, but it doesn’t show up in game. Is there an extra step I might have missed for functional objects?

I am very grateful for this tutorial!!! Thanks a lot, truly!! I had to figure out the hard way (that is, trying more than once), that the original CC piece I want to recolor must be in the Game mods folder AND I had to run the game at least once with that content in for S4S to recognize it and show it where it can be manipulated. Once I realized that, it was possible for me to follow the tutorial smoothly.
I tested my "skills" with a recolor of Wondymoon's Gold Living room chair, and I made it! But the original objects is 955kb, while my recolor is 66960kb. It is huge!! I like to have thumbnails for all swatches, and used the PNG formats for these. But I realized that even the JPG pattern formats I used for the recolors, are quite large.
Please, what do I need to do to reduce the size of the final recolor package file? Or, which formats of files should I use that are smaller?
Again, thank you so very much for this!
