IntroductionThere are occasions where a footprint is an unwanted feature to a specific mod. This tutorial will show you how to edit the footprint resource so that the footprint will no longer be present in the game. Please note: if the item is an object recolor it will not have a footprint resource. You need to clone the item as a 3D mesh to be able to edit or remove the footprint resource. What you will needSims 4 Studio InstructionsOpen the item and click the Warehouse tab. Click on the Footprint resource line and look in the Template Key section. If the numbers in the three fields indicated are not all 0's the item has a linked footprint. Put a 0 (zero not the letter O) in each of those three fields. Studio will automatically fill in all the other 0's that need to be there. Once the fields show all 0's save the .package. You will have unlinked the item's footprint so that it will no longer be there in the game. Save the .package. If the Template Key section already shows all 0's the item does not have a linked footprint and instead it has it's own unique footprint. In this case click the Edit Items button in the Object Polygons section. This will open a popup box. Select everything on the left side of the box and click the Remove button. This will delete the item's footprint data so that the footprint will no longer be present in the game. Save the edit and save the .package. Note that both of these methods will leave the footprint resource itself still in the resource list on the left hand side of the Warehouse screen. This is what you want.

Hi tehhi, I looked at the item in my game and the design tool is showing up. The height of the design tool is set in the footprint. When you remove the footprint the design tool will show up near the bottom of the object instead of at the top:

You don't need to remove the footprint from the .package...it needs to stay there. You have made it so that it has no effect in the game by zero-ing the template key fields.

Is it possible you have some other version of the item in your Mods folder that preceded this one? What happens when you click the design tool on it?
