I had the same problem but try this: open the sims game, then you'll see the logo on that bottom bar thing on your mac, the right click it (or you know tap with 2 fingers) then go to options, and then show in finder. the you should have a sims app in your finder that you can now drag to applications. This worked for me! Thank you!

Problem: Getting error message when opening Studio: Unable to find The Sims 4. Please configure your game path. An error has occurred. Please report this. Thanks I am running version 1.3.3.6 I play Sims 4 via Origin. Everything is on the cloud, and I suspect that Sims Studio does not like that. I am unable to install the program locally -- my 2020 iMac will only run 64-bit applications. How do I coax Sims 4 Studio to use the only command line I can give it? Thanks!

You game path must lead to the installation folder of ts4. What does it look like?

Hiya, I am facing this exact problem, I use PC and my Sims game is installed on my system. I have never once faced this before and a few weeks ago I was using Sims 4 studio with no issues. I have not changed anything settings wise as the paths have remained consistently the same for years, so i am unsure as to why this is happening; please see screenshots below. Any help will be very much appreciated. Thank you in advance.

If won’t help, maybe re-install s4s (you can delete s4s folder in My documents as well)

There are a few things just not right with Studio lately. It just not running smothly anymore like it use to. I just recently had this also even though nothing has changed. It mainly happens to me when studio is auto re-indexing alpha support for SDX package content like yesterday. I then also lose all the game content descriptions for some reason right after. Deleting and reinstalling studio etc. has sadly become a bothersome task ever since.

I haven't read the whole thread, so I don't know if this has been suggested, but if anyone has the same problem on their Mac, here's an easy fix:
In Finder, search for "The Sims 4", then "right" click by tapping with two fingers on the result with the correct logo of the game (which is the application) and click "Show in enclosing folder". Now change the view to "as Columns" instead of Icons/List/whatever you had it on. This shows you the path of wherever the application to your game is hidden. Just follow the same path in S4Studio and it'll work. For me, it was hidden in Locations > Macintosh HD > Users > my username > Applications
Hope this helps!

For MAC users: assuming your game is correctly installed in your Applications folder, right click on the The Sims 4 icon and choose Show Package Contents. Now open the Resources folder, and then the drive_c folder, and finally the Program Files folder. Inside this you will find The Sims 4 folder; you can open that folder to complete the path to Sims 4 Studio. THIS ONE. I spent forever trying to figure out what was wrong until i tried this and it's what works. Thank you!!!

Go to finder and enter into the search bar "Sims". If you scroll down you will see and application named The Sims 4. Take that application and directly move it to your applications folder. Sims 4 studio should do the rest. OMG THANK YOU!!! This is the only thing that worked for me <3

Please read the following posted by another user: Doesn't work. Yes this doesn't work. Has anyone been able to find a definite path to fix this?

Try this? It worked for someone using a Mac recently. UPDATE: I solved the issue above! However now that I can finally use Sims4Studio I have a ton of new issues which I'll post elsewhere... For Mac users, the easiest way to find the route to your Sims 4 app is as follows: 1. Run the Sims 4 through the Origin app as usual 2. Once the Sims is open (loading screen is fine) hit command-tab (-tab) to switch to finder (or any other app) 3. Now you can access your dock, and you should see the Sims 4 app on there since it is currently running 4. Right click on the Sims 4 in your dock, select options > show in finder 5. A new finder window should open showing exactly where the Sims 4 app is stored, and you can trace back the route to find it from within Sims4Studio. If you have trouble accessing the folder for any reason, here is a direct way of reaching it: 1. Go to: Mac HD > Users > [your username / home folder] > Applications 2. This folder looks identical to your regular applications folder, but the only thing in there is the Sims! 3. Right click on the Sims 4.app in there, and select 'show package contents' 4. You should now be able to look inside the 'Sims 4.app' because it's secretly a folder, not an app!! 5. Inside that folder go to: Contents > Resources > The Sims 4.app (this is the actual real app) As you can see this is all a bit confusing, because for some reason the system has created a secret duplicate applications folder and tried to hide the Sims 4 app from you by packaging it inside a fake version of itself?? No wonder we were all stuck before! I hope this helps any other mac users who are struggling <3 It's from this post.

Hey buddy I thought i would pop on an answer after i worked out how to solve this problem,
Simple
1 Go to Sims 4 Studio menu next to the apple menu (Top left corner of screen) 2 Click Prefrences 3 Where it says Game path, at the far right of this should be a box with ... in it. Click there 4 In the finder window which pops up, goto the search box (top right of window) 5 Search The Sims 4 6 Click once on The sims 4 app which will appear after searching 7 Click the Open button (bottom right of finder window)
Hey Presto you set the game path
Hope this helps
