I don't think it's a bake issue. You need to make new mesh geometry in S4S for the shirt if you want only it to be transparent, following this tutorial here : sims4studio.com/thread/1469/tutorial-create-transparent-skirt . You'll need to separate the shirt mesh from the underneath mesh in Blender and give it it's own cut type, too. Otherwise, it will never really be transparent.

Woop, thanks! I wonder how someone would make a full normal map that is compatible with HQ, as that uses texture sizes that seemingly wont work. Anyway, you've solved my issues. Thank you so much!

Here are the .package and .blend files. www.mediafire.com/file/xnc4mcbxojibpk3/alphadress.zipPlease ignore the missing LODs and wacky textures for now. I'm at a loss for what to do as I've never really had this problem before, despite following the same steps every time. Also, I tried manually splitting the mesh before importing back into S4S but there was no difference in game.

Hi all. I'm having the "visible seams" issue with a new mesh I'm working on. Usually it happens when I don't remove doubles, but this time I've done that and it still shows up. I've found that after I remove doubles in Blender and then import them into S4S, the doubles magically appear again. Somewhere in the import the seams split and I get the visible seam issue. I'm using the newest version of S4S and the Blender it works with, as well as 2.78a.

Hi all. I'm curious as to what the "head" option does from the drop down of items to create a 3D mesh for. When I create a .package with it and open the blend file it produces, it seems to quite literally be for the head and face. Is this similar to what we used to be able to do in TS2 for editing faces outside of the game? Or is it just something to ignore for now. I would really like to know.

Oh, you're right!! S4S clones the eyeshadow and gives it the sort layer of 2100 automatically. I just never changed it, because it seemed to work for some swatches. I wonder if playing around with the composition method of the skin detail would make it layer under tattoos. [ Also I have no idea what the script stuff is that appears, but it only appears when I post at the same time as listening to Youtube? IDK

Hi myobi , if I understood you correctly, the solution in your case would be to change composition method from 4 to 0 in each CAS part. Or if you make new lipstick, change composition method in the first swatch and next swatches will inherit the same presets. This way your CC lipsticks and other makeup will be compatible with custom skin details which have composition method set to 0. Check my mini-tut here. This resource controls the way makeup and skin detail textures blended, if composition method is 0 then textures don't blend, they just cover each other depends on sort layer number. Hope it helps. Sorry, I forgot to mention that the composition method remains the same between swatches. I've included a download to a package as an example. It is an eyeshadow file. www.dropbox.com/s/644c40tevwt7l46/MYOBI-sugarspice-eyeshadow.zip?dl=0The composition method is set to 0 and the sort layer is the same for every swatch, and yet only the first swatch layers correctly and the rest hide behind the custom skin details. It doesn't seem to matter on what the custom skin I'm using is either. But that also shouldn't effect the fact that skin details don't go behind tattoos, like their sort layer would suggest. I've just looked at a bunch of CC skin details from other creators and all of them layer on top of tattoos. I wonder if there is any way to make them layer behind.

I have to wonder if the list of sort layers above is still accurate and working? I've got skin details set at 2100 that layer on top of tattoos and refuse to go under. I've also found that sometimes while making lipsticks or blushes, some recolours will randomly layer under skin details despite there being no changes to the sort layers of each individual recolour. I feel like some CC just has it's own mind about things.

Hello, does anyone know how to make alpha accessories play nice with alpha hair? I made some new eyelashes using the SimglassCAS shader, but they keep showing through alpha hairs which isn't the best look. Does anyone know how to fix that? Thanks!

Not actually a S4S thing but I didn't know where else to post this and MTS wasn't helpful. Basically, my game has stopped generating the SGI or HHI files for Sims I make. It only generates the Tray Item and Household Binary files. These actually work in other games though, which is why I'm confused. What do the SGI or HHI files actually do? My Sims seem to run fine in other peoples games with just the Tray Item and Household Binary files. Sorry if this is posted in the wrong area. Feel free to move it if need be.

Solved it. I didn't realize the files couldn't be nestled in other folders inside the Mods folder (I'm a freak when it comes to categorizing all my CC with folders). Now it works and I can experience the brilliance! : D Woohoooo!
