Thank you so much, OM. I understand the way the cut numbers work with replacing the EA meshes with my own.
In step 29 of this tutorial you are explaining that you should join the two seperate meshes of the pillows so that you have only one uv map. I suppose I do not do that with a conversion like this, but keep it to two seperate uv maps and meshes?
In blender, when I look at the EA mesh of the table you also used, there are four meshes noted. One is the shadow, 3 is the wood part and four the glass. Number two gives me four squares on the shadow plane. What is that and how do I approach that when converting my mesh?
May I also ask what the maximum vertice count is for objects in sims4 per square? (If that works the same way that the sims2 meshes worked?)

I want to convert one of my sims2 meshes to sims4. My original mesh had have two subsets: one for the wood texture and the other for the glass. I have cloned a dining table with a mesh that has two textures: glass and the other wood/metal part. In blender I found that the glass part has a cut number 1 and the other is 2. Though there is only one mesh to export.
What I need to know is, do I still join the meshes to have one texture/UV map, or do I keep it apart because the EA object I cloned has two texture images.
I do hope you understand what I try to say.

Thanks, I think I've got it.
I changed only the bump map and it looks far better, but I am still not completely satisfied with it. Will go compare it wit the original texture to see.

This is how it came out after I changes the bump and specular maps. I do not completely understand what you mean by smoothing out the bump map or the alpha channel?

I am very new to creating sims4, but would like to know if one is to import the new bump and specular maps you provided the one after the other in the same line? The one with the greyish square?

Thank you Omorfi-Mera, I just found that post and wondered if that would be my problem.
Would I be able to change that without starting all over again with my mesh? How do I get to my mesh in Studio?
I was able to find my mesh and I made the changes in warehouse. But now I have a dark framelike colour aound the inside borders of my mesh??
will soon post a pic.

HI, my name is Anidup, which is a combination of my name and surname. I am from South Africa, and have been playing/creating for the sims2 mostly. I have recently changed to sims4, and am currently in the process of learning how to mesh in sims4. I have been a creator for quite a while, most of my stuff was posted at Blackpearlsims, but I am now only putting my stuff up at Cherryblossomsims.
I enjoy the Studio tool and admire each and every one who worked so hard to get the tool ready for us to use. This is a great forum and I have learnt a lot recently!

I have followed the tutorial by Orangemittens and created a new picture mesh. When I tested it in my game I saw the funny stripe down the one side of the mesh. The original pictures do not have the stripe down the side. Can anybody tell me what I may have done wrong?

Hi,
I was wondering whether the caress curtains have a bump map to it? If not, could you please advise as to how I should go about to retain the folds of the curtain.
And another question, can you have both the Alice and Vogue versions of the Studio installed?

Hi kiara24, Studio is not yet making full default replacements although it will be soon. Once it is I will write a tutorial showing how to use it for this purpose. There is no supported and updated custom content tool I know of to use. You could try using s4pe but that tool is unsupported and has not had any significant updates in months. I can't vouch for how well it works nor can I recommend its use. anidup can you post the objects you've recolored that aren't showing up in the game? Hi, Here is the link to the three items I tried to recolour. (Hope I have posted the link correct) Thank you for your help. Edit: Please ignore: I am feeling sooooo foolish!! I simply forgot I am creating a standalone version of the item! I was looking for my recolour in the EA version. Think I am still thinking too much about how it worked in sims2! Please accept my apologies..... but maybe someone else can also learn from my mistake!
