Sick of your sims having to go to work washing dishes etc. to learn to cook fresh food that doesn't spoil?
ME TOO.
So, I made this aspiration "Culinary Historian" to provide a "Fresh Chef" reward.
This is my first try at an aspiration and I am pretty happy with it.
This one can be rushed through “reasonably quick” if you cook and throw away – but what’s the fun in that?
This is meant to provide a bit of reward “cash” as you routinely feed your sims and build cooking and gourmet cooking skills, and the ultimate prize of no more spoiled food when it’s completed.
ALL of the objectives of the aspiration, except "Make Ambrosia", have multiple options you can choose.
You can make one recipe 5 times or 5 different recipes from the list - it's your choice.
Hover over the objective to see a list of recipes that are part of that objective.
Many of the titles have abbreviated list, (Italian ...Ravioli...) but the full list of recipe options (sometimes 25) are in the hover text.
There are no objectives for cooking levels; they are all part of the recipes themselves.
You will need BOTH Cooking AND Gourmet Cooking skills to complete the aspiration.
For example, you can't cook Ambrosia unless you are Gourmet Cook level 10 (That's an EA thing BTW).
If you know anything about my work, you will suspect that MOST of the recipes required here will need harvestable ingredients - many of them CC harvestables. You are right.
The aspiration has 4 parts.
Lvl 1 Grandma’s Cookbook (4 sub-parts - types of recipes a Grandma would make)
Lvl 2 Cultural Creativity (4 sub-parts – Cultural/Regional cooking styles Brasilian, Chinese, Italian, Cajun)
Lvl 3 Techniques (4 sub-parts – recipes demonstrating Grilling, Dumpling making, Candy making, and Savory pies)
Lvl 4 Recipes for Life Events (4 sub-parts)
This one is harder to describe, so I will provide examples:
Your spouse or relative died – You need Ambrosia.
You were attacked by dementors -(dementos chocolate bar)
or you need to swim under the lake to save a friend -(Gillyweed Salad) – You need Harry Potter inspired food.
It's Halloween/Christmas – You need holiday cookies.
Someone is getting married- You need a wedding cake.
In an effort to please single sim households or folks in a hurry, I created 2 versions of the aspiration.
They are copies of one another with minor changes, so you can only use ONE.
Easy one has fewer numbers of dishes prepared to satisfy the objective, but since there are instances where all possibilities are 8 serving options, there will still be waste.
Hard one has much higher numbers of dishes required for the objective, but for large households that aren't REALLY in a hurry (they have to eat every day anyway) it isn't a big deal.
Because the HARD version, is well . . . harder, I increased the satisfaction points gained per objective to give you more "cash" for the reward store.

MOST of the recipes required for the aspiration are mine, because I can change any and everything at will. I tried to use EA recipes where I could.
The idea for this mod came from trying to re-work the Culinary Librarian Aspiration to remove things related to expansion packs. My aspiration is base game compatible.
