Hi all. I have a problem which is a little difficult to explain, so as I work through it in my mind I may update and work on how to explain it properly. Okay. I wanted to make a glass vase, so I chose an object with glass in it which I learned after I made it, was a candle. Now I have this: Yup! Vases with flames in them! Hmmm ... I may have just answered my own question. When I imported into Blender, I had three meshes instead of the usual two. A shadow, and two objects. Thinking I was a genius, lol, I separated the "1" mesh and kept the bottom of it - I may have not seen the little flame. Wow, I'm getting more confused as I type this. In any case, if I were to clone another object and use my same mesh, are chances that I would still have that little flame? Does anyone know the best way to get rid of it? If I do make another clone, do I need to use an object with glass to make a glass object? Okay ... I'm being pulled away from my computer haha! but please, if anyone knows how to fix without necessarily starting over, let me knnow! Thanks. Thanks!

Hi guys. Here are a couple of things I'm not sure if anyone is interested in. I'm putting them on the back burner until I learn to actually map better, which may be never. They're really not bad though. The ceiling lamp especially is cool because you can basically make a different shape depending on how many you use. UFO Lamp: Trendy Woozy Floor Lamp: I also made some Prada, Versace, LV and other shoes :D but they need some minor color tweaking before I decide if they are worth sharing or go into the trash pile. Have a great evening, everyone.

No problem. On the contrary - I appreciate you taking a look at them at all. Right now I'm on a shoe kick. UV Mapping is killing me!

Hi all! Not sure if I am posting a lot or not, but hope you guys bear with me. I was recently forced to take a few weeks off of work due to a minor medical issue which I hope won't amount to much, but before I found this place I was driving my co-workers and boyfriend CRAZY with calls ... and, there are only SO many times you can rewatch Breaking bad!. In any case, I was going bat**** stir-crazy at home, and when at the doctor's, there is a whole lot of "wait", so the tutorials here and being able to make things for a game that takes my mind off everyday things is a blessing even if half the time they don't work or look THAT great. Lol. Here are a lamp and table I made. They're not bad, I think. I very much need to work on my UV Mapping (unwrapping skills ) because some of the mesh parts are still bleeding over into others. For the most part however, I like 'em and hope to learn and do more in the next two to three weeks. Wish me luck!

I just reread what I wrote and I actually sounded like I knew what I was talking about when I haven't a clue. My apologies! <3

OrangeMittens, that would be lovely, thank you. Here is the .package file, but is is just a recolor so I do not have a .blend file. I can export the mesh if that is the .blender file you are speaking of. Also, I was finally able to find not the converted TS4 file, but the original TS2 file here. I downloaded it and converted it to a TS4 object, but I noticed the same issues the blanket was having in that the swatches kept being copied over by new swatches, so I just scrapped it. When I downloaded it, I noticed they were Maxis Slaves, so I am uncertain as to whether that is why they behave the way they do. Lastly, I created two new pillow sets since these were giving me so many problems (well, I created one and then cloned it and made it smaller for the second set) pillows, but I was getting some bleed-through when in-game and some were a little shiny so I did the un-shine trick with the dst file in the Warehouse tab, but then they became dark as in my original issue with the original pillow set above. I had to scrap those and reclone the smaller set to make into another big set. Not sure what I am doing wrong. :(

Thank you Bakie! I'm not sure if it is related or not, but I found that after I drastically reduced polygons on the mesh, S4S was able to import it. I will try the same with the first mesh I had problems with later this evening and will report back.

Hehe. Every blue moon I indulge and get a Mickey-Ds fish fillet I think it is around that time.

Hi all! Very interesting and long thread and I learned much by reading through it and trying my best to follow.
I'm having an issue though that I did not see mentioned and I did not come up with when Googling. Whenever I try to import my new mesh back into S4S, it either hangs up on the rotating working icon, or I get the error message: "Studio is unable to access C:ProgramData/S4Studio/Scripts/objectexporter.py because it is being used by another program: blender"
I made a cup already and what I have now is a plain shopping bag with handles so it shouldn't be too much different. I'm not sure what is happening. :(

Hello fellow simmers! I just made a new object and wanted to ask what you thought about it. It still needs tweaking because I have some bleed-through of the outside color inside of the cup, but for the most part I am really happy with it. I have a McDonald's lot downloaded from RomerjonProductions and it is perfect for it. Just the right size, etc. (In this picture, for faster loading & testing, I only have the cup in my mods folder so I haven't seen it on the lot yet). Here is a recolored bag, and I think they will look great together. Of course, the cup is empty, but it is a self-fill setup.

I first tried creating custom content with hair and got totally frustrated. Decided to move on to different items. I am just starting new but learned how to create custom paintings. I figured thats a good start to begin learning how to work with S4S and Photoshop. I'm totally addicting now. I like having paintings in my sims home that no one else has! I am SO with you. I want to fill my Sim's homes with too many things that come to mind, which is a bad thing because I don't complete one project before starting on the next. I started doing a 'masterpieces' collection of all the greats so that I could begin another project: The Louvre (someday, someday) but I think I used the wrong cloning method and now I need the blank meshes from The Numbers Woman in-game for them to show up, when from what I thought I read, she gave permission to use and clone as desired. In any case, here I am, talking all over your thread about my projects when I popped in just to say that I am totally addicted as well, and that I'm sure your paintings are lovely!

Hello. Sorry to keep reviving this thread, but I tried to use a couple of the comforter/pillow sets last night and the pillows are still all yellow. It seemed as if they looked better after applying Brujah's Occluder suggestion, however I may have been looking at them in other lighting. Does anyone know of anything to help or should I just scratch this and count it as a learning project? I'd like to somehow save them if possible. Thanks!

It really isn't! You only need to replace an image with another. Read carefuly my instructions and you will get it. Just be careful and not to replace the wrong image. Remember that the one you're looking for is the DARK grey image in the warehouse. If you need further instructions you can post your recolor .package here and I can show pics on where to find it. Mathcope, thank you SO much!!! I think that did it. I was dreading having to resize the blankbump, but it appeared to be 512x512 which is what I normally use for my swatches, so I dropped it in, and saved. I took a look at them under "My CC" in S4S and you can already see a slight difference, so I think this did it. I am about to restart my game so I will let you know for sure how it goes, but in advance, many, many thanks for your kind help and your generosity in sharing your know-how. Hi Mathcope, To begin, the pillows do not have that dark shadow anymore (yeay!). Thank YOU. However, now they are yellow / have a yellow cast. I have not tried correcting each one because they are all yellowish and thought maybe, if you have the time, you may have another suggestion for me for this new issue. EDIT/UPDATE: Mathcope brujahI used Brujah's Light Resource - Occluder trick and it helped a lot. I think that minor tweaking of the swatches now will bring me the rest of the way to done. *crosses fingers*, but if anyone thinks of anything else, please let me know and thank you all so very much.
