Got it. So technically I can edit the mesh though? If so, do I open the object up as "My Projects", go to meshes and proceed from there as in here or do I clone it again, override? Sorry. I think I became object and color crazy and have too many working projects now and none are just right yet, so I am becoming a little confused. P.S. I am working hard on getting you to 10,000 posts.

Hi lovely people! Me with another (hopefully, simple and quick) question. I promise I looked through topics although I have to confess I may not have been as thorough as I sometimes try to be in looking. :D I just 'created' an object if you can call it that haha since it is a simple box really just scaled down from S4S's Recolorable Mesh. The issue is that I want to make it thinner (don't they protrude a little too much?) without having to redo the textures/swatches again since I didn't keep them and I really don't want to export and import each one unless I have to. Question: Can I take the SAME object, pull out the mesh, scale it thinner and put it back into the object without disturbing the textures? I THINK there is a simple 101 answer to this but my mind is throwing an exception and parts of the CD have been erased and I just can't wrap my head around what the answer is or what technique to use. Thank you very much in advance.

Hey! Have you noticed a similar issue with any curtains by any chance? The other day I noticed that some of my cc curtains (not created by me, I'm not a creator actually) have this weird, dull appearance when placed *indoors*. More specifically, it's the two-tile versions of curtains that I have several recolours of, while the one-tile versions still work perfectly normally. If I place all the curtains outdoors, they look normal, and match, but the moment they're in an enclosed room - with or without lights - the wide curtains go weird. These are the curtains and recolours I'm talking about: Hi Lee! Just wanted to chime in and say that YES, I have noticed a similar, if not maybe the same issue. I have a couple of sets of curtains and I used the exact same swatch for each (left and right curtain) when recoloring, but no matter where I place them, one looks slightly to not-so-slightly darker than the other. I can't figure out why that is and in the end I gave up and blamed it on the lighting/shadows of the game itself. In my case it really isn't so noticeable if you don't specifically look for it which of course, I do and it drives me crazy. Haha. Hope you get your issue resolved. You are definitely in good hands. ------------------------------------- Edit: One thing and I'm sure you may have already thought of it, but have you changed your settings at all in the recent past? Sometimes when I start tweaking mine it makes for some strange changes to shadows and lighting.

It really isn't! You only need to replace an image with another. Read carefuly my instructions and you will get it. Just be careful and not to replace the wrong image. Remember that the one you're looking for is the DARK grey image in the warehouse. If you need further instructions you can post your recolor .package here and I can show pics on where to find it. Mathcope, thank you SO much!!! I think that did it. I was dreading having to resize the blankbump, but it appeared to be 512x512 which is what I normally use for my swatches, so I dropped it in, and saved. I took a look at them under "My CC" in S4S and you can already see a slight difference, so I think this did it. I am about to restart my game so I will let you know for sure how it goes, but in advance, many, many thanks for your kind help and your generosity in sharing your know-how.

That sounds complicated, but I will try! Thank you so much for taking a look at it and wish me luck.

Hi Mathcope! Thank you for your response, and yes, recolor only. The mesh is from here: linkI used the Fluffy Pillow. simfileshare.net/folder/2065/I had also used the Fluffy Blanket but found some issues with that, so I switched blankets. I think maybe that this is not the original mesh (?), which I can't find for TS4 so maybe that is why. I just tried again to play with the lightening / darkening now, and they still don't look right.

Hello again, and hope everyone is well. I am having a problem with some pillows looking pretty dark when in-game. I have tried making the swatches lighter and lighter, but at a certain point, they become washed out instead of actually becoming 'lighter' or matching the blanket. I searched the topics here, but what I found dealt mostly with meshes and not recoloring, so I wondered if anyone has had the same problem with recolors and if so, had a solution. I do find that if I position lighting just right on the ceiling above the pillows they look better, but was hoping to get them to kind of match the blankets more without the lighting. Any help is appreciated. ... I just realized that I haven't tried to make the blankets darker, but I'm thinking I'd have to go way dark to have them match the pillows. :( ---------------------------------------- EDIT: This last one is one of the lightened ones, and as you can see, parts of it (the pillows) are lighter, but other parts are still too dark. If I go lighter though, they start to wash out and the light parts look blurry or as if they are not part of the same set. I also have a bunch of recolors and on some you can tell more than on others, but if you look for it like I do now, then you see it on all of them.

Thank you! I have been meaning to get to the light colored one in order to get this look: I really like the way it looks on walls although it doesn't quite match up or look 'seamless' when coupled with short or half walls. I thought I would start from scratch using a seamless base game pattern so it could be perfect, but if anyone cares to check it out in-game here goes (I learned how to upload to Dropbox here, but I didn't know where to post it to share). VersaceWallpaper Again, thank you for the kind comments! <3

Hello HaPpy 2017! Here are a few pics of a wallpaper I made. I wanted to share it, but not sure where to do that. I personally like dark walls although I intend to make a beige version as well, and love all things 'designer' haha. I am currently using it in a home for a new sim bachelor. I think he likes it too .

Thanks so much for the information (and the links which I WILL check out). I just had some time to work on finding the problem and no luck yet. It is kind of brain-racking, as every time I D/L new content, I put it in a separate folder so that if there is a problem, I know that it is in that new folder, but running the game with just that folder shows no issues. Running it without the new folder (just my old content) shows no issues. Running them together crashes it, but only when I leave a lot. So yes, it is something conflicting between the two. I have tried running the Mod Conflict Detector but it snags/hangs probably due to the amount of cc. I imagine I will have to do it the good old-fashioned way and start parting them. Sammoyke, I feel you. I am a custom content addict. <3

Oh! Thank you for letting me know. And yes, all due to your fabulous tutorials I am having a ball recoloring things. I love most of the recolors in my game, though I am always tweaking them. Haha. Once I get them mostly perfect I will try to share if anyone is interested. I have always been amazed and so very grateful at all the wonderful creators that share their things so I hope to sometime have something nice enough to do the same. I tried my hand at meshing and to be honest, it gave me a headache, but I haven't given up. All the best to you this holiday season and in the year to come. X

Hello, and happy holidays to all! I have a couple of quick questions please and I wasn't sure where to post, as technically they aren't 'creator' questions. I kind of wanted to get a feel for how much custom content everyone has and if you notice an issue after going over a certain amount. I have 12.8 GB in 14,842 .package files of custom object content and 1.91 GB or 912 .package files of CAS content (hair, makeup, facial hair and clothing). I just added an override file and like 40 MB of new files and after testing out a bunch of houses I downloaded (placing them, looking through them and either deleting or keeping them), I tried to go back to world mode and my game crashed. It hasn't crashed in FOREVER so I either downloaded a bad .package, my override is no bueno (testing it now), or I have just gone over my custom content limit, ergo my question. Also, I used to merge my package files 90 to a merge and not exceeding 80 MB, but I found it to be a problem when I downloaded new content and used DupeGuro to find duplicates. Now I just have all my mods/cc in the main Mod folder and a separate CAS folder. Is merging them really recommended and does it really improve game-play and/or load time? In the same vein, should I use S4S to delete thumbnails from my packages? All thoughts and comments are highly appreciated!

Hi everyone!
A very blessed and merry Christmas to all that celebrate it, and greetings and well wishes to those who do not.
Quick question please ... Let's say I like a mesh or object for the most part, but I'm not crazy about the colors:
1. If I Override it (choose Override under Objects) and create my own swatches and mainly delete the ones that are there, will the old [main] object be hidden and will mine show up?
2. If I "recolor" an object (choose Standalone Recolor under Objects), and then I HIDE the original, will my recolor still show up?
Thanks!
