So i have a question for everyone who has created a custom content clothing. What are the different ways for making clothing for the sims 4. I have only been able to use the skin extraction method which is where you extract the clothing from the model's skin and use it to create a clothing and it is easier because you don't have to worry about assigning bones and weight painting and it also is easy to texture. BUT i also noticed that there is another way in which the creator will create the clothing from scratch and then fit it onto the model but my question is how to uv map it. When you unwrap the uv map, since you did not extract it from the skin, you cannot place it according to sims 4 maps because it will conflict with the skin. So my question is how do you place it on the map without it affecting the model itself. Sorry if that is hard to understand. Am really bad at explaining.

Okay so i created a new mesh by using the body extracting method. After i created the skirt, i uv mapped both 0 and 1. And since it was extracted from the body, i did not need to assign bones again. I also textured it and then when i updated it in s4s, it came out weird. Whenever i rotate it, part of the skirt disappears as i rotate it around but i don't know what am doing wrong. Here is an image.

Are you sure you assigned the bones well and did you color paint it to match ea's color paint?

I think i figured it out though. I just imported a new dds file into blender and move the cloth map into it so it displayed the color. But one question, let's say i created a new skirt and i want to assign bones to it, Can i join a nude bottom with the mesh instead? Will it work or do i have to individually assign bones to it?

Could someone at least answer me? I noticed that when i was uv mapping, as i moved the selected map, the color of the mesh changed in the 3d view. It is taking the color form of the flattened body. How do i change it? everything else is working perfectly.

Ok so i just finished creating a skirt for female child and i did everything like assigning bones and all but it isn't coming out right when i import it to s4s. I can't see any legs, the texture of the skirt is meant to be plain white but it looks weird and also when i rotate, part of the skirt disappear. What is wrong with it? HERE is a picture.
