Thank you both for the responses! Chicklet, I did not know abut this cheat, that's interesting! IABR, so, and I have had this issue before, but if I black the main layer completely, the rest of the sim shines, well I went ahead and blacked the clothing part (which is probably what you meant anyway hehe) and reversed it for the mask... and SUCCESS! I had messed with the spec before, but couldn't get it going right. Finally this is fixed, thank you so much! I am dropping this image here so others can see exactly what I did, if they have the same problem:

Hello! I have been working with transparency in my meshes, and so far it has gone pretty well, these are things I have successfully meshed that have no shine problems: Note the lace on the jumper and on the bonnet. No shine. Now, I am working on a shirt, and I cloned the jumper I made with its settings, just replaced it with my new mesh (also 2 mesh groups, assigned to correct cut numbers.) Anyway, it has that glossy plastic shine, and I can't get rid of it: I have deleted spec, normal, shadow, and I tried with altered spec to block out shine... nothing. Nothing makes a difference. The geom which contains the lace has been set to "simglass." Why does the package I cloned this from not have shine, but this one does, and how can I get rid of it? Any advice/help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Hello! What I do is find a pattern, try pixabay.com, publicdomainpictures.net, or freepik.com. Save it, in your photo program resize it to a smaller size, add it as a new layer, and make sure it's set to "overlay." then you can trim the edges (a fast way to do it is to select the texture on the lower layer, invert the selection, then select the pattern layer, then hit delete). I hope that helps, if you have anymore questions let me know! =)
