So I stumbled upon what I think is a glitch where I was able to have the "Tall Fluid Forms Lighted Wall" in front of a door arch and essentially made a hidden door. However, I can't replicate it. So I'm thinking there must be a way to make one of these that could do this intentionally. Either through tuning or some other method I don't know yet. I have a castle I'm working on for a trickster and honestly a room that looks solid with hidden doors is like the coolest thing I can think of. Any help will be appreciated so thanks!!

YOU ARE GEM!!! Thank you so much this seems, for now, to have worked! I was ready to pull my hair out lol. I haven't had a chance to test extensively (because it's late right now and I've had a few things on my plate) but honestly being able to add a swatch was all the confirmation I needed~ <3 Bless!

Okay, so this issue has been going on for a few months and I've been too nervous to ask for help. But since then I haven't been able to actually DO anything with my cc, and well that's ridiculous since all I want to do is add swatches using a standard setup. The Problem: {Spoiler} The Sims 4 Studio - Version 3.1.2.1 System.OutOfMemoryException: Exception of type 'System.OutOfMemoryException' was thrown. at System.IO.MemoryStream.set_Capacity(Int32 value) at System.IO.MemoryStream.EnsureCapacity(Int32 value) at System.IO.MemoryStream.WriteByte(Byte value) at S4Studio.Data.IO.Util.BinaryStreamWrapper.WriteBytes(Byte[] bytes, ByteOrder order) at S4Studio.Data.IO.Util.BinaryStreamWrapper.Write(Single input, ByteOrder order) at S4Studio.Data.IO.Util.BinaryStreamWrapper.Write(Single input) at S4Studio.Data.IO.CAS.Geometry.UVStitchData.Write(Stream stream, IReferenceList resources) at S4Studio.Data.IO.CAS.GeometryResource.WriteData(Stream stream, IReferenceList serializer) at S4Studio.Data.IO.Core.LinkedResourceSerializer.Write(Stream stream, IReferenceList resources) at S4Studio.Data.IO.Core.LinkedResource.Write(Stream stream, IReferenceList resources) at S4Studio.Data.IO.Package.DBPFPackage.WriteResourceStream(FileStream final_stream, IPackedResource resource, IDBPFResourcePointer index) at S4Studio.Data.IO.Package.DBPFPackage.WriteDataStream(Stream src_stream, FileStream final_stream) at S4Studio.Data.IO.Package.DBPFPackage.SaveTempPackage(String out_file, String tmp, Stream pkg_stream) at S4Studio.Data.IO.Package.DBPFPackage.Save(String out_file, Boolean inline, String temp_path) at S4Studio.Shared.StudioDocumentModel.Save(String filename) Every time I open a package this happens. Sometimes I'll get as far as "adding a swatch" and then I get the message. But ultimately it always ends with the program crashing. I've tried to do it again to recreate it and now merely clicking crashes the entire thing and I don't get a message. Here's another one that happens: {Spoiler} The Sims 4 Studio - Version 3.1.2.1 System.AggregateException: One or more errors occurred. ---> System.OutOfMemoryException: Out of memory. at System.Drawing.Image.FromStream(Stream stream, Boolean useEmbeddedColorManagement, Boolean validateImageData) at System.Drawing.Image.FromStream(Stream stream) at S4Studio.Images.WindowsBitmap.LoadStream(Stream s) at S4Studio.TC.ConvertData(String src_ext, String dest_ext, Byte[] convert_d, Boolean requiresAlpha) at S4Studio.TC.ConvertData(String filename, String dest_ext, Boolean requiresAlpha) at S4Studio.ViewModels.Generic.Sims4SwatchContent.<>c__DisplayClass66_0.<executeimporttexture>b__0() at System.Threading.Tasks.Task.InnerInvoke() at System.Threading.Tasks.Task.Execute() --- End of inner exception stack trace --- ---> (Inner Exception #0) System.OutOfMemoryException: Out of memory. at System.Drawing.Image.FromStream(Stream stream, Boolean useEmbeddedColorManagement, Boolean validateImageData) at System.Drawing.Image.FromStream(Stream stream) at S4Studio.Images.WindowsBitmap.LoadStream(Stream s) at S4Studio.TC.ConvertData(String src_ext, String dest_ext, Byte[] convert_d, Boolean requiresAlpha) at S4Studio.TC.ConvertData(String filename, String dest_ext, Boolean requiresAlpha) at S4Studio.ViewModels.Generic.Sims4SwatchContent.<>c__DisplayClass66_0.<executeimporttexture>b__0() at System.Threading.Tasks.Task.InnerInvoke() at System.Threading.Tasks.Task.Execute()<---</executeimporttexture></executeimporttexture> What I've done: - Deleted all S4S files (including the documents folder) - Reinstalled S4S several times using both methods - Made sure all relevant programs for my system (windows 10) are up to date - Checked my computer's RAM and relevant stats (all good from what the diagnostics can tell) - Made sure my hardware is up to date and properly working - Updated and Reinstalled Sims 4 - Restarted my computer - Browsed what relevant help threads I could find about my problem (unsuccessfully) - Cried I'm sorry if there's an obvious answer but I've honestly tried everything I could find to do. All I want is to be able to recolor stuff; I'm not adding 70+ swatches either (only about 17 and I've seen other creators exceed that so I'm assuming I'm in the black) so I know I'm not exceeding the intended purpose, but since I have a limited understanding of coding and such I can't properly read the report to understand what and where things are going wrong.

I'm having the same issue as jkitsjuli. I want to turn some swimsuits/bodysuits into tops, but the bottom part is showing on top of any bottom I pair it with. I have bodysuits that don't do this, but I'm not sure what I need to change to make it work like that. (Changing it to a top only makes it possible to put it with bottoms.)

Well that's a relief! As long as the problem is identified that means it at least CAN be fixed. I'm game for waiting as long as it takes. I know for most of us Apple users we're grateful to have anything since most people aren't Apple users it's more difficult to manage for us. Thank you so much for keeping with us on this and even having Candy Apple in the first place! <3

Same here. I have the latest version of Candy Apple, and I can't open anything. I know they'll fix it, but it's breaking my heart because I just learned to recolor and I had a whole bunch of projects lined up... and it's like my newfound power has been taken. I'm SO GLAD my old computer isn't the problem and other people are going through this. Hopefully that means it will be resolved soon!

Oh that's cool. Where can I find it?

Oh... so what I discovered is that if I do them one at a time and makes sure the same swatch shows in the swatch grid, it looks like it will pan out right this time. Thanks for the advice! Fiddling with the dual-color thing was instrumental in working through this. :D

That would be cool! And maybe if you build a church you can make it an option to "go to work" there. I've build a few churches, so that would certainly be fun for me lol.

I've seen a few things about sorting swatches, but apparently they are outdated and I don't know how to find the current method. What I'm trying to do is make it so that in game the swatches on the dress I recolored show up in the order I want. I assumed they would show up in the order I added them, but that doesn't seem to be the case. Since it takes a while to add 50+ swatches to something, I'd like to figure this out before I do another recolor. Thank you!

Thank you very much for the info! I figured out how to selected the color, put it in it's own transparent layer, and resize that over the mesh. It worked, and for now I'm happy with even this basic ability. Much appreciation for the blender videos too! My setup isn't ready to handle it yet, but I'm going to be upgrading soon to high sierra and that will hopefully make some stuff (like blender) run smoother.

I want to recolor a veil in Wild Miniature Sandwich's palette to teach myself how to recolor with gimp. The mesh is literally a plain grey rectangle. I have tried a few different methods after watching a few tutorials.
I tried using the colorizor, but I don't know how to get the specific shade with the tools. I tried making a transparent layer and used the dropper tool to get the specific color, but I want to be able to fit it to the mesh without using the eraser to erase the rest of the layer. (It has to be easier than that. The erasing method is somewhat tedious and a little messy.) I tried just recoloring the whole thing, but as you probably know it ended up turning the entire sim yellow (the color I'm starting with).
There has to be something I'm missing. I'd be so grateful if someone could either explain to me or direct me to a tutorial that shows how to recolor cas items with gimp when you want to use a palette (again, like WMS).
Thank you!

While I understand that it's a touchy subject, as someone who was spanked growing up I personally believe there nothing wrong with it IF it is done correctly. Spanking isn't beating. It's a visceral consequence to misbehaviour that as a child is effective at creating an understanding of what it is to "fear" the real consequences you get in the adult world for misbehavior. That said, I would LOVE to see a mod where even a simple "lecture" would be a positive redirection instead of the nothing we have now. I'm not looking to add spanking either, but I really want something that can more effectively "train" a toddler or child. And yes, executed in such a way that everyone can be comfortable using it.

There's this really awesome headdress/hairpiece from the trailer for Merman Simmer Studio's Deep Sea Mermaid Tail. (Which is awesome BTW check it out) Google has failed me. I MUST have it, no matter the cost. Thanks! ~Link to the Deep Sea Mermaid Tail Trailer~
