Okay So while trying to set my project up for tomorrows adventures in meshing. I managed to not have some of the gaps that my last attempt had. But I still have a flesh colored bit of mesh long the bottom of my skirt. Try as I might to retexture it I cant. I endup with either a flesh strip at the skirt bottom (or is thet a shadow issue?) Or a white stripe at top of legs. Also Im not noticing the little triangles cutting into the skirt edge. Also Im unclear on how to move the uv skirt as was suggested to see if that fixes the issue. Still Its a win! I am getting closer!!!

Okay I will redo everything up to the shadow edit to prepare for tomorrows adventures in meshing. Thank you so much for the much needed feedback!

I did indeed move on to edit the texture file. Which led to me needing to edit the shadows for my mesh. I found MisterS' tutorial for editing shadows here. Edit ShadowsThis has led to a few more questions on my part. I cant seem to get the blank rles file to import properly. Studio doesnt seem to recognize them. (Im using Draw.net) Additionally there are things that I am noticing in game about the mesh that Ive altered. Im not sure what Ive done to cause this, but Ill be reworking my way through the steps in the morning.( I think that I took too much off when I was editing the nude mesh before joining them together maybe?) Ive a weird body gap here. And the legs between the skirt and legs there's an odd gap. Did I try to shorten the skirt to much?

Well, this didn't end the way I wanted it too BUT Im still putting it into the win column. Why? Well....it IS shorter (rofl) Back to the drawing board!

Ah ty ty. How do I go about selecting the cap on my model so that I can fix the uv map? (tried goggling how to select cap in blender, but I think my wording my be wrong.) Ahhhh Figured it out Face Select, and dont forgot to make sure that I was in Edit mode.

Hiya Ive been playing the Sims since the days of Maxis and angry Gnomes(I still miss them SO much!). As a rule I lurk, look, and download. Ive tried my hand at doing simple recolors and meshing in the past. (I wont mention the exploding showering sim of 2009. We don't talk about that! EVER!) But to be honest, I always felt such things were just beyond me. But that's Pre S4S talk. This site wonderful! I initially found my way here looking for the pose player and pose packs. I never dared to look at any of the tutorials. Assuming that they weren't really meant for people on the ground floor. (With me being on a sub basement 12 level) But when I did dare to peek. I was completely blown away by what I found. Well written, illustrated tutorials that I seemed to be able to understand and follow? No! This had to be some nefarious trap! Still,I decided to try. I followed the tutorial, waiting for the shoe to drop. And it never did. I actually finished my first little project on my own. MIND BLOWN. All jokes aside. I am ecstatic to find so many helpful supportive people. Tons of well written tutorials! Links of where to find more information! A safe place where a newb can ask questions and find helpful answers as opposed to sarcasm and ridicule. Not only has this really rekindled my interest in learning more about recolors, and mesh work. Its made me bold enough to stop hiding say "Hello!" So...Hello! Im Cia. Total Sims addict. I hope to learn enough to finally be able to contribute to our community in some small way

hi again guys I am up to the point where Im trying to close of the bottom of the mesh But try as I might I see to be either missing something at the edges, or picking up something that I shouldnt be. My results have blue triangles cutting through the black, which arent present in the tutorial that Im using. So Im pretty sure they should be there. :D So now Im wondering if there's some shortcut that will highlight the bottom most edge? Currently Im using the shift click method Ive tried to enlarge the troubled areas so that I can better see them while I work as well. In the mean time, Ill just keep trying while I hope for an easier way.

Hi Im trying to learn to short a skirt mesh. I am using Mister S Tutorial. And I'm a bit stuck. I select B and outline the part of the mesh that I want to delete. (Is that the bounding box shown below or am I mistaken?) The outline vanishes when I press X. I select delete by Vertices. But the entire skirt is deleted. I don't know what Im doing wrong. i63.tinypic.com/2eelr41.png

A couple of quick questions about retuning. The Old selling points are now Object Tooltip Tags. But the tutorial doesn't seem tell me what to do with them. They seem to be adjusted by clicking the caret and scrolling my values up or down. Then click save. But Im not going to assume anything anymore. (Says she who concluded changing a color code would yield a recolor all by itself. ) Second thing I was wondering was do the new Object tool tip tags allow us to skip the step of changing the Object Definition lines? Or should I still chane the Tuning Name and Tuning Id? If so why? I dont fully understand what the change facilitates. Thanks you! Ciab

Okay. That's all done. ( Youd think I'd of mastered the secret to Sims animation to see me strutting around the house. Everyone was required to come see lol) Next question. Is it possible to tune my recolors to have better ingame stats?

And Im finally happy with the tub. Quick comparison Picture included. It took 3 merged layers to get a color that I was happy with. Thank you all so much for helping me and putting up with my chatter all day. On to the toilet!

Happy with the knobs and faucets now. Still think that the tub is too light though. Or is it all in my head?
