Hi badgirl8, welcome to the forums! In order to clone a copy of a custom 3d package, simply copy the package into your Sims 4 Studio's Mod folder under my documents. Then you would do Object > Create a 3D Mesh and search for the object by name. I do this when I clone the bed frames to make new ones.

Hi Deaatrin, I think your issue is that you probably did a Duplicate Link which caused your groups to be linked. Each time you change the info on one group, it will auto change on the other. I went ahead and did a regular duplication of groups 2 and 3 and that allowed me to change their cut numbers. Blend File Here{View Image}

Hi Flowey, I looked at your package and I think I see your issue. Two of your groups were not changed over to Geom, they were set to none and the cut numbers weren't properly set. Also you were missing the correct uv names like uv_0 and uv_1 for each group. The UV maps still need to be updated to fit correctly. Here's the new .blend and .package files

Under "Scene" is where you will find the areas to edit the geometry and cut numbers.

deaatrin, when you are attempting to create a new hair mesh, are you choosing the option Create 3D Mesh under the CAS option? If you choose create a standalone recolor or add a cas swatch the options to export the meshes will not appear.

Most of the question you have can also be answered by browsing this section about different cas items. Most tutorials can be applied to other cas items. Good Luck!

Make sure the cut numbers are correct under Scene. Also are you cloning the sims 4 mesh first from S4S > Exporting the Cloned Hair > Import your new hair > Assign cut numbers, weights, etc etc > Then Reimport? Here's a tutorial on hair basics if you've missed it. This could prove helpful as I myself don't make custom hairs.

Easter is coming up and I've been working on some clothing for the sim kids, and with Easter comes a lot of colorful plaid tops for boys. While making some of these tops, I came up with an easy solution on how to take a photo of a plaid shirt and turn it into a seamless pattern. I used Photoshop CS5 for this tutorial, but as long as your program has a 'Marquee' Selection Tool, you can use this technique. So let's begin: Step 1: Find a photo of plaid shirt you want to make into a pattern. Best choice of photo will have the pattern repeated at least twice horizontally and vertically so you can choose where the repetition starts and ends. If you don't have an image, you can use this one. Locate an area where the pattern repeats and use your marquee selection tool to select that area. Copy and Paste your selection into a new document. Step 2: Using the 'Single Column Marquee Tool' select one column of your pattern by clicking on the image and placing the tool in the center of a column. Use CTRL + T combo on your keyboard to go into transform selection mode. Drag the left side of the tool left and the full width of that column, then do the same for the right side. Click the check mark when done to confirm changes. Do this for every column of your pattern. Step 3: Switch to the 'Single Row Marquee Tool' (found in the same menu as the column tool) and repeat the sames steps from step 2 to fix your rows. Once you've done that, your pattern should now be finished. I hope you found this tutorial useful and easy to follow.

Your hair is missing an important component, UV_1. You need this so your hair will move properly with sliders, here's a tutorial . Aside from that, I think the easiest way to fix the weight would be to transfer the weights from a similar hair length to your new hair.

Sometimes this can happen, it happens to me all the time when I frankenmesh some parts together. I've found that using the dissolve vertices option works very well in this case. So in vertex selection mode, you can select the extra vertices and dissolve them. This shouldn't effect your mesh. I believe to do this, after you select your vertices, you hit 'delete' and on the options menu it should say dissolve vertices, edges, faces. Select the vertices option of course. {Click to View Image}
