Hi, i would like help to understand how to recolor a CC please. In the tutorial it says: "6. Create your recolor image as usual and click the Import button to import it into the .package.", except i thought the tutorial would teach me how to CREATE A RECOLOR of a CC, so, i don't understand. How do i change the color of this CC? I change to the color i want but it doesn't change anything! It seems i need to change the color of that other thing/file but how??

I'll repeat what everyone else has said here in the last year or so, but gotten no reply to yet. The tutorial that begins this thread applies to a previous version of Sims 4 Studio. The current one doesn't have the same way of selecting custom content, so many of those trying to get on board still have zero idea how to clone anything other than items already in the game (even though, clearly, many people, many of them here, know how). Can some please respond?

How do I export an item? Do I click batch export or export because I had tried batch export and it worked for clothes recolors but for some reason it won't work on my object recolors and I wanted to know what I was doing wrong.

Basically, what you do is copy the original CC into Documents/Sims 4 Studio/Mods folder, create a standalone CAS recolor, and the CC will show up if you pick Content: User and then you can see the CC there. This tutorial helped a little bit to figure it out.
Then don't forget to add your new recolor back to your regular Mods folder.

I don't understand how to add swatches and change them to a different color. I can change the thumbnail swatch.

Hi! Ok, so to do a recolor of CC and not include the original mesh…I have watched other tutorials and none that I have seen include step 8. What happens exactly if you do not do step 8? I’m trying to learn and really don’t wish to mess anything up if I submit an item to TSR. Thank you!

Introduction . . . . . . . . . . . . . .
Is there an updated tutorial we're all missing? I'm having trouble navigating the forum tutorials or finding a better tutorial through searching the forums or searching google.

I'm having this very same issue. I did not have any problems before, granted the last time I recolored anything was in October. But, all I did was update S4S and it's telling me that it can't find Sims4 (I have reset the path several times, and it gives me an error message) and it won't show any custom content, though I have all of my folders set up correctly as shown. There has to be some kind of fix, since I'm seeing plenty of people posting their new CC and recolors. :( I'm having the exact same issue as well! I have the wishes version for my computer and it's all connected to my Sims 4 but no cc will show up when I try to make something in the "create standalone cas" I'm worried I didn't do something right or if it's a bug. Whatever it is I hope it gets fixed soon or I get information on how to solve the problem. Did anyone ever get this figured out? Trying to scroll the thread to find a solution... (years later, dang!)

So to be able to do this with cc nowadays you have to put the cc you want to create a recolour of in ts4 studios folder "recolorables". Its in the basefolder so its easy to find. Once its in there, you can search for the cc as you would any other basegame object.
