Hi, I'm new here. My apologies ahead of time for asking about a topic related to poses, but not CAS poses in particular. I am interested in making gallery poses, however, I can't seem to find any tutorials. I would imagine a few of the steps along the way are different in order to get a pose that will end up in the gallery instead of CAS. Do you have any advice as to where I might find this information? Thank you

geedragin Someone in another thread said they knew how to make poses for the gallery and they suggested you override "a_portraitThumbnail_female_01x" and so forth. They said they were having problems with the size of the picture that was showing up but they are working on it. Good luck and hopefully this little bit of information leads you in the right direction, if you have success with this please let us know here so others can learn also how to make gallery poses.

simsdude47You are "Overriding" or making a pose pack? If so when you type trait in the search bar it comes up for me. If not for you also try typing a_CAS_trait

Hey Miss Dominion I took a look at your pose, you have a gazillion keyframes locked and neither pose has a keyframe that is slightly different in movement for the last keyframe. I fixed your pose, if you export the blends you can see what I was saying about the keyframes. On the female I moved her right ankle slightly and on the male I moved one of his fingers. I suggest when making poses to have the sims have a bit of space between them as you know all sims are different sizes in game than in blender. This way more than one body shape will be able to look proper in your pose. When making poses use the "R" rotate key to rotate your rigs, the only time you need to use the "G" grab key is on the face. Also your male sim as you can see was not holding your female sim at all, so no wonder your sims in game were not going into the proper position. If you ever need help or tips on pose making you should check out this tutorial and many others on this site. As always there are staff here that can help you as well when your in a pinch. Here is your pose. Here is the fixed version Here is the download you can delete your two poses from the package.

sweetsorrowsims so was my main problem not moving at least one body part for the last frame? Also, I don't exactly know why there are that many keyframes since I set the rigs in place for every place that was mentioned. That really is insane.

HoneysGardenYou only need to set a keyframe and 0 and the 2nd last and last timeframe. (In this case 240 & 241) Making sure 241 has a slightly different movement than the rest of the pose (I usually slightly move a finger).

sweetsorrowsims Okay because I was doing locrot on 0,60,120,180, and 240+241. Maybe that's the reason I have SO many locked frames? So in my case is locking them just at 0,240, and 241 and then moving a finger what should help me while making my poses and should it also keep them in the same spot that I originally put them? Also, by following the same steps by locking them both into place and saving them together as a different file then deleting (lets say rig2) and then double tapping A and saving rig1 as rig1 and doing the same for rig2 will work?

sweetsorrowsimsThank you for the advice by the way! I made a pose that took two seconds just to test what you told me and it works now!!!

Hi friends, so I've got body movements down pat, but when it comes to facial expressions I'm at a loss. I can't figure out how to close eyes, make them look towards a certain direction or anything like that. Can anyone help? :D

legendofcorinneTo move facial features you can use the "G" Key (Grab). I also find for eyelids and the eyes I like to press "rr" as I have free motion to move them as I wish. HoneysGarden Locking them in that many keyframes was not your problem, it was that you need to have the last keyframe moved slightly different. Also yes how you explained saving and deleting the rigs sounds good. To make a sim pose in a chair you will need to open studio, create a 3d mesh, pick a chair you want the sim to use, and export the LOD. Then in blender open your pose append the chair>object>all the meshs and make your pose on that. Save it and then delete the chair like you would another rid (in a couple pose) and save the chair pose by itself and import that into your pose pack.
