Hi honeysim25, in the picture you're showing you have the shadow plane selected. This is the flat piece behind your painting. You need to return to object mode and mouse click on your painting instead. This will allow you to return to edit mode and select parts of your painting instead of the shadow plane. You may need to type the number one in the S4S CAS Tools field if it is not already there.

I'm attempting to do my first mesh, and it's not a painting but I've been following these steps and for some reason my Blender doesn't have the CAS options for the cuts. Any idea how to fix this?

Thank you for the tutorial! My EA object behind the cube doesn't look like yours in Blender. When the cube is surrounding it, the cube is just grey and not transparent at all - therefore I can not see the object through the cube which makes a lot of the tasks difficult. Is there anyway to change this?

Hi kerokero, if you share the .blend I can take a look to see what your settings are.

Hi,
this may seems stupid or a minor problem but after a few steps in the tutorial, blender turns my objects into plain grey objects (no texture and no shadow anymore). This doesn't seem to be a problem until step 45th, when we're asked to modify the object depending on the shadow...
Is this just an option to turn on/off?

Hi escargotmargot, can you post a picture of your Blender screen when the item is showing no texture and shadow or post the .blend?

Thanks for answering orangemittens. Here's a screenshot in edit mode, the shadow (and texture of the deleted painting) is also missing in object mode. I can also post the .blend file if the picture doesn't help you.

Yw You are not in texture mode: Click the small arrowheads to the right of the white ball and select the red and white ball that says Texture next to it to change the mode.

Is there a video tutorial anywhere? I'm really only trying to make 2 different statues and 1 window, but when I upload them into S4S, it just shows the original item I exported and altered. I don't know why, but it's virtually impossible for me to learn how to do something from a text tutorial. ???
A link to a video tut would be the best thing ever. Thanks! :D

Hi qmnty, I'm not sure I've understood what you're asking. If you're asking if you can export meshes from Sims 4 without Sims 4 installed, the answer is no. Neither Studio or Blender have any way to access the game files unless the game is installed on your computer.
Hi jamisue404, I do not know of any video tutorial that goes through the process of making an object for Sims 4 from start to finish. If you already have a mesh that you're trying to get into a package, this tutorial isn't really on point for you and contains a lot of steps you don't need. If you're importing your mesh into Studio and not seeing any change in the model viewer, the issue is probably that you have not changed the cut numbers in your mesh groups to match those of the original EA mesh groups that you are trying to replace.
