Thanks Brujah! That's good to know. I haven't attempted this yet because I've read other people having problems but I'll remember this when I do try to make a new counter top and see if that helps.

Hi all!
I was wondering if there was some way in S4S to determine what deco slot size an object requires? Or if someone can give me examples of an object for each size. Or maybe there's a guideline of how to determine the sizes.
I've made some things in the past and used table plants to clone from but they were too big to fit the slot of the shelf I had planned to use.
Thanks for any help!

Hi,
I was wondering if it was possible to remove the objects from the Vault Cabinet that appear when it makes a corner? Where are these meshes located? When I open the cabinet in blender there does not appear to be any mesh objects besides the cabinet and the countertop.
Thanks for any help you can give me!

I don't have the answer for this, but I too am searching to see if anybody has come up with something. Actually, that's what I'm here looking for now and how I found your post. LOL On another site I just read and learned something about the search function tho (which was new to me and did help a lot). Here's the thread, it's about half way down the page (the entry with the pics) Carl's Sims 4 GuideBasically instead of clicking one of the lines that pop up when you search, you click the very top that says text and it will show you every item that has the search word you searched for. I was having a problem searching for CC I had created when I had all my CC in my mods folder, because the game doesn't seem to organize it by just creator name or price. It seems to organize it by creator name by type, so if something was cloned from a plant it will be in a different location than if I cloned a deco object, even tho the objects names all start the same and I price everything the same.

UPDATE: So, I am that person when something isn't working I have to continue searching for an answer! LOL, Anyway, I have no idea how or why, but it worked this time. I read a tutorial for a TS2 to TS3 tutorial for base game items and they said to uncheck all the check boxes before cloning, so I figured, why not. And, it worked this time. So YAYY!
Who knows, maybe I had it on Recolor and not Clone, but I was pretty positive that I did. But, I'm happy I can convert and revamp some fav TS2 items now!

So, I have been successful at converting TS2 CC (with permission from the orig creator, of course) by following your tutorial! YAYY!! Another awesome tutorial again, OM! Thank you so much!
TS2 EA objects were actually not bad (sometimes hideously textured and almost always out of proportion, of course, which is normal for EA, but I've come to the conclusion, none of the mesh creators for EA have ever thought to import a sofa into their 3D program to size lamps and tables and other objects to keep them in proportion! LOL!)
Anyway there's some EA objects I'd love to convert to TS4. But, two different times, with two different objects, when I clone the object, there is no GMDC listed to export the OBJ.
What am I doing wrong?
Thanks for any help!

Thanks for the help MisterS! That totally worked! I had never opened the mirror up in blender to check it out because once I cloned it and saw it in the S4S viewer, and viewed the texture I was way confused and thought it was over my head. But, it was pretty straight forward, 3 cuts, one for the shadow, one for the frame, and one for the mirror portion.
But when I first loaded the game to test it, it wasn't behaving as a mirror, it was reflective, but not a mirror. It was shiny and looked glossy. Then I remembered I had turned reflections off when I was testing something, so once I turned it back on, it worked flawlessly!

Hi All,
I was wanting to make a custom mirror and opened up a mirror in S4S, but I was totally confused. The "mirror" portion of the texture has the backside texture on it.
How do I indicate what part of the mesh is supposed to be reflective?
Is there a tutorial available I can read or can someone explain what I need to do?
Thanks for the help!

Hi all!
I am not an avid game player, (I'm more of a decorator) so I apologize if this is common knowledge. But, I was wondering if there was a way to expand the search function in-game. What I mean is, for example, I created a set that had about 20 different objects in it, but when I search by name it will only show the first 7 or so alphabetically. And, if I search with 3 words, for example Goodnight Kiss Lamp, I don't get any search results, even tho I know that's the .package and in-game object description name. So, then I have to scroll thru pages and pages of objects to try and find it. It's not so bad with objects that have a more definitive search field, like sofas, chairs, lights, sinks, etc .... but when you have a TON of deco objects and you're searching for one itty bitty item you know is in your game, it's kind of frustrating.
So, basically I was just wondering if there's a way to have the search results show more than the default 6-7 or however many it is?
Thanks for any help (or commiseration! LOL)

@xelenn I could kiss you if I could! You are a lifesavor! Now I don't have to scrap this project. TY TY TY!! :D It worked perfectly! Although, I didn't find it in just the Models line, I had to go to Models LOD and then do all your steps. Here's a screenshot of how it looks now! (It's 2 different cabinets (no, your eyes aren't deceiving you about the cabinets being 2 different sizes LOL), one is for taller fridges and one is for normal size fridges, I didn't fix everything as I was just testing to see if this helped. Thanks again! *hugz - Chicklet ***Mods this has been resolved if someone can add that to the title or tell me how to do it myself, thanks!
