I see in a couple places where it has been mentioned, but I figured Id ask again about stairs, railings, fences, friezes and roof trim. Is there any hope??? Its so frustrating that we dont have railings to match fences and vice versa. Also, the trims have a lot of great colors, but not enough bright ones and they dont always match or go with the wall textures. Im sure theres a reason its taking so long, but as a builder its so annoying about the railings and fences. Just thought Id put in my 2 cents!

....please dont :( I know many people like the cropped look because it makes the dog look tougher, but unless you are fighting the dog(Please dont be fighting your dogs) there is no reason for it. Most breeds that have cropped ears have negative reputations that they are trying to beat and cropped ears do not help. Cropping of tails have some applications as it makes the dog (usually a hunting breed) easier to spot in the field, but still its mostly aesthetics. Dew Claw clipping has health applications as the are easily torn or broken. I know, I know, "It's just a game", but just like many fight for our sims to positively reflect all ethnic backgrounds and sexual preferences, Id like to see that maturity level reflect in our sim pets too. I fight this fight in real life as a rescuer of pit bulls and it makes my nauseous to think of our sim puppies to have to go through this (If youre ever bored, look up how they do the ear cropping). EA really scored points with me by making the Pit Bulls default trait "friendly", which is pretty spot on.
Sorry to go...off topic? but I really feel strongly about this and couldn't let it go without putting my 2 cents in. Many people dont know what the animals go through during ear cropping so I like to let people know.

One of the biggest issues I have with game play in the Sims (all of them) is that it is just WAY too easy to make money. If you have a job and can water a plant, you will never have money issues.. Scratch the job even. An amazing modder has found a way to decrease the amount of money you make from your job, which is an amazingly huge help, but its the collectibles that cause the biggest issue, for me at least. Yes, I can just NOT find them, but finishing collections is one of my favorite things too do and in order to find rares you end up finding tons of duplicates, which you either have to sell or fill up some weird basement below your house. Plus, I do want to make SOME money off of them, just not thousands of dollars when I sell a bunch of blackberries...
SOOOOOOO, my question is, where are those files? Id like to tweak everything; rocks, fish, plants, statues, gems etc. Like the tweak for jobs, Id like to decrease it by 25, 50 and 75 percent. This allows folks to decide just how hard they want it to be. Be nice to be able to lower money from panhandling too, but if I can get to the collectibles Id be thrilled.
While Im here, is there an overall file anywhere that manages income? If so, could I tweak that and just decrease ANY money made by a certain percent? It would be nice to let the game do the math instead of doing it ourselves. I know for the careers, she went in and figured out the the percentages one by one and entered them. I would love to make it easier for her.
Thanks for reading and again for any help. Even if you are unsure, if you have an educated guess where to look, let me know. i really want to be able to help her somehow plus I really want to to implement this in m game so i will be checking back often so please ask any questions you may have and I will answer them quickly.
PS, Since I posted this on the Sims forums, the Modder (Satira@mts) has found the file for frogs and is trying to work backwards from there to find others.

I have been watching and waiting, but the last mention in here regarding stairs was in march of 2015, so I figured id give it a bump.
As a builder, not really a player, I would LOVE to be able to edit stairs and fences! At least recolor. I have done some with TSRW, but the program is not very beginner user friendly so I gave up after a couple swatches. I know we are limited as far as stair shapes go to the straight version since EA seems to thing we dont need variety (grrrrr) but I would make it infinitely better if we could at least recolor them! Make them actually match the flooring they come up against!
and honestly, I would be THRILLED if someone made switchback stairs or l shaped stairs that worked even if the animation didnt match up.
Same with fences and stair railings. It would be great if we could get them to match also.
Thanks for listening.

I may have asked this before, but it was a long time ago. With all of the things people tweak in this game, there has to be a way to change the how much a sim makes as an income. Right?!?!
Id like to be able to tweak the amount earned by 75 50 and 25 percent. Meaning, my sim goes to work and at the end of the day instead of 100 simoleons, they make 50 etc. Same with collectibles that you can sell and things like fishing or woodworking. Some of the collectibles sell for so much money its crazy. As someone who likes to start there sims from nothing and work towards earning everything, it is a struggle to make it a struggle. Because they earn so much, especially when you are trying to complete collections, most of my sims never have jobs. I have over 4800 hours played and have never completed a career path.
I get that there are other cheats that change money. I know I can set my money to zero, I can increase by bills so I end up with less money or i can set up things like alimony or child support. But, Id like to be able to just set the percentage then be able to play my game uninterrupted. Plus, these other By changing the amount that is coming in from everything, not just setting numbers randomly, the game play will be true and the experience the same as if there was no cheat being used.
I would be willing to do it myself if someone could point me in the direction I need to go to do so. I dont even know where to begin to look. Even if you could just do one, Careers or collectibles, that would be a huge step in teh right direction.
Thanks for taking the time to read my request!1

For some reason, the thumbnail is only showing up for some of the swatches. I did everything righ, actually probably did TOO much as I also placed every single item with each swatch in game before exiting. What am I doing wrong??? Also, some of the items I have made previously randomly now arent showing all their thumbnails. I dont have any mods that affect the catalog or anything like that. I have the newest version of s4s, downloaded yesterday just to see if that was the issue.
Also, if I want to change my thumbnail overlay image, what are the steps for that? What I did was open the item in s4s, clicked each swatch, then clicked clear on each thumbnail image. Do I then do the steps from 2 again?
Thanks again for all your help.
I have all of the pack purchased through origin. No sketchy cracked versions lol. I have tried it with just the broken items and no other CC in my folder and it still does it.

I have been trying for days to find an in game item that I'd like to convert to sims 4. I wasn't sure where to post this, so if it is in the wrong section please let me know and move it or I will. I am trying to convert the gables and a roof deco or two and I cant find even one. I have tsrw to extract the mesh as I dont know any other way, so if there is a better or more efficient way please let me know. But still, I have no idea how to locate the item. I did manage to find someone who had converted one of the gables for Sims 2, but I still have no idea how to extract it from the sims 2 file. Any direction would be amazing.

candysims4 I am actually here trying to figure out this for a chair also. I realize your post was a while ago, but if you aren't worried about it being base game compatible, there is a chair with an alpha from Get to Work that you can possibly use. Its called "Crystalline Bottom Holster" Hope that helps a bit.

Thank you! Is there any reason the toddlers ears are shaped that way? Is it an EA Model? They just look so odd and unreal. Just curios!

So, I would like to make some toddler earrings but since EA didn't think the same way, there is no choice for that. Do I choose child earrings then just select toddler and go from there? If so, how in the heck do you know if they are in the right place since the toddler models have no ears! I mean, they're kind of there, but there is no lobe and the ear itself is stuck to the side of the head. What's the best way to go about this? I'm pretty new to meshing still but am somewhat comfortable with the basics. Any suggestions would be great.

I love the spider webs from the vamp pack. They just it easier to make rundown abandoned houses really look the part. Problem is, [ ] dont work. The footprint gets bigger, but the mesh stays the same. Why does this do that? I mean, EVERYTHING sizes up, what is it that is preventing these few items to not get bigger or smaller? How do I go about getting around it if its not something that can be "fixed"? Thanks as always, Laura

So, I have a pair of boots I am converting from adult size down to toddlers and children. I used the rain boots for the children since they're about the same height. I opened the rain boots in blender, append the mesh of my boots in, joined the two meshes, deleted the rain boot mesh and saved. Everything looks good in game, except for the fact that with the rain boots, pants get tucked into the boots but with mine, they dont. Why would it not be working? The same thing is happening with the toddlers, I used ugg boots I had created, which somehow I made the jeans tuck in, but when I bring in these boots, it doesn't. I am no blender expert, so if its something obvious, I'm sorry. If it is something a bit further along, please go slow. Like I said, still new to blender so try to explain it in layman's terms if you can. That or point me to a tutorial that touches on this. I looked, but couldnt find one myself. Thanks in advance for any help that you guys can give. I spent all day on this and I am at my wits end.
