What version of 3DS MAX is used in the tutorial? Either 2016 or 2017.

I described in my blog how to fix this issue with blank specular. In reality the best solution is to create a custom blank specular, but if you don't know how to do this my file would work too. But it might cancel specular on other custom items. I haven't posted this tutorial on the forum since I didn't know if there is batch fix coming, and whether it's batch fixable at all. MizoreYukii where did you see that discussion? Was it on discord or on some forum? Could you PM me the link, please?

Use either 2.70 or 2.76. On my computer Studio works only with 2.76 and never with 2.78 and 2.79.

It is not a bug and doesn't need to be fixed. You can use either method of scrolling. There are tens thousands people on this forum where a good part wants something to be "fixed" in Studio for their liking. Over the years studio bugs and wishes thread turned into a help desk where many people would come and demand for changes or dig in their error reports. That's why they are available now only for people who contribute to the forum, not just simply spam. Studio has been tested back and forth, therefore real bugs are a rare thing and usually caught pretty soon.

You might, may be tomorrow when you have a "fresh head" you'll achieve something. But I am not an expert in this field.

oneirigiri your specular is wrong size in HQ file. Where diffuse is 2048x4096 specular has to be 1024x2048. Most likely this is what is causing the issue.

It's not in CAS Part. It is a separate resource. You need to embed all external resources. Click Tools -> Modding -> embed external resources from drop-down menu.

thyagom take a look at this thread. I know that it is possible to modify the rig by adding a few new bones, but I don't know if this would work in your case. You can always try cloning the rig by choosing "override" and typing "sim" in search field (you need to clone an object, not CAS item). Modified rig has to be placed in Mods folder. I feel like it is possible, but I don't know what sims that don't wear high heels will look like in this case. I am really curious about this project.

Tails could be controlled via region maps, as mauvemorn said. Regional maps -> Entries -> Edit items, on the left click "Add" button, on the right switch "Base" to Tail A and in layer put 20001. Then copy this line 3 times and change to Tail B, Tail C, Tail D. This should hide any out of 4 types of tails. To remove fur you need to use excludepart modifiers as linked above. Sometimes you need to combine both resources in order to hide certain body parts. Try putting 2800000000000000 in Excludepartflags first before changing Region maps. Please let us know if it worked (I don't have time to check it right now).

As MahoCreations mentioned above that your path to the game is incorrect. You need to link the path to entire Sims 4 folder, not to the Bin, Game, Data or other folders. There should be nothing after The Sims 4/ in the path.

This is a question for Blender forum. There are people who know better about what can cause blender crashing.

You need to share both files when you can't import one file into another. In your case I see 3 mistakes in .blend file: missing uv map, dress is not painted in vertex paint mode and zaro weight assignment. You need to fix all these things.

Your textures are missing mipmaps. If you're importing them as DDS you need to save them in your 2D editor with the option to generate mipmaps checked. Or import them as PNG and S4S will convert them. Whoops, the tutorial I was following said not to enable them. Thank you so much, it worked! Follow tutorials from the forum since they either approved or written by developers of Studio. Regarding washed out color read my post here. You need to change composition method.
