Hi all, Maybe this is the wrong section to ask, so I apologize if it is. I am looking for a UV map of the female bodies that shows how the mesh will dip and bend when a clothing texture is wrapped around it. It would be especially useful for lining up seams and straps, etc. I found basically what I am looking for, but unfortunately the link to it is dead. It's here if you want to see what I'm talking about. I make clothing for the game Second Life, and they have mesh bodies that use clothing textures that "apply" to the bodies that are not actual 3D mesh clothing objects, so I'm used to being able to have a UV map of the body to align things. Thanks in advance for any help or suggestions!

Hi everyone,
I was wondering if using [ _ ] underscores or [ - ] hyphens or spaces in your file name cause slower loading times? I know on Sims 2 they said it did and to rename them and remove any and all odd or strange characters in the names to help with load times.
I searched for it in regards to naming .package files for Sims 4 and the information stated the same, but that hyphens, spaces, and underscores were the worst to have in your file name.
So, I was just wondering what the protocol was.
Thanks for any help, thoughts, or suggestions!

I'd like to share my creations with anyone who's interested in them, but before I do I have a few quick questions.
I'm unsure when to use the different functions in S4S when recoloring.
When do I use "Stand Alone Recolor"? When do I use "Selective Clone"?
Most of the creators of the CC I'm recoloring require you to link back to them for their mesh, so I want to make sure that I don't inadvertently do something that would not be following their TOU.
Some of the creators, do allow their meshes to be included with recolors. If that is the case, I'd like to prevent anyone who wants my objects from having to go fetch the original mesh, if possible. (Also, when the TOU says it's ok to include their mesh, am I physically putting their DBPF package file into the same zip folder with mine or is there some way to actually clone the mesh so that my object contains the mesh so the downloader doesn't need the original mesh in their game?)
I just want to be clear on which way to recolor.
Thanks in advance for any help!

Quick noobie question, and I apologize if this is in the wrong thread.
I recolored an EA fireplace, and the inside of the original fireplace had small subway type tiles on it, I wanted to give it a more update and contemporary look so I replaced it with larger modern tiles. I also made sure to change the DST texture file for when it's lit.
When I put it in game and have my person light it, it shows EA's original bumps and outlines. So, I looked at the DTS files and saw where this seemed to be "embedded" into the gray DST file. I tried changing just that portion of it to a gray that matched, but didn't want to just wipe the entire texture out because it also had the "coals" as an embedded bump.
But, when I went back to the game to check, that didn't do anything.
So, would the files in this thread fix that problem or does that only apply to a cloned object? I was just doing a stand alone recolor.
Thanks for your help!

TYSM! OMG! You rock! If I can't figure out how to make it transparent, I'll just fake it and put a faux mirror background behind it or something.

Great! I'll try that mod and see. And, I'm talking pretty much about any lights. I have a few that are barely lit, more for deco purposes and night functional. And, the invisible lights from the game or terrible! I really wanted to just use them to not clutter up my walls or ceilings, but I can't, those are glaringly white.

I don't know if it's just my computer or the game itself, but my lights, any lights are ridiculously bright! I've tried turning them down using the in game dimmer, that didn't help much, it makes the room dull and gloomy and not very appealing to take screen shots, but if I turn it up it causes the white colors to wash out and not be able to see details and also creates a tremendously bright halo on the walls and ceiling to the point of camouflaging the pattern on the wall where the light shines on it.
I turned down my lights in settings to low and that didn't help much either.
Any suggestions and ideas would be great!
Thanks in advance!

Hi all, First I just want to give a great big thank you, shout out and squeezie hugz to all the amazing people who created this program and continue to take your free time to update it and provide such awesome and easy to follow tutorials! Ya'll are rock stars! And, I wanted to just let you know how fantastically easy this program is! This is my first time doing any recolors since Sims 1!! I never took the time to learn any of the programs to do recolors when Sims 2 came out. And, when Sims 3 came along and you could pretty much customize anything you wanted, I felt it was kind of pointless in me learning how to recolor since I don't know how to create new meshes and everybody could just change colors or patterns themselves in game. So, when I heard about this program I thought hmmm, let me just check it out and see how hard it is to learn. It wasn't!! (At least, for what I'm currently using it for). I leave all the hard stuff to you modding experts, I just put my own pretty wrapping paper on it! So, in case you can't tell by now ..... I'm quite proud of my first recolors for the Sims 4 ever! Here's some pics .... (not all stuff in my staging screenshot was done by me, obviously lol!) Some of the recolors have very subtle differences in them and hard to tell in these pics but in game you can see it more. EA Bed Curtains Dresser - I love the original but it so didn't fit into my rustic master bedroom, so I had to fix that! Pillows - All of the originals are nice, but the color and style weren't quite right Rocking Horse - Love the originals, but the colors were way too bright for me and didn't match the rustic look I was going for Stool - Was perfect as the original one, but I felt I needed a white-washed stool up against the dark wood bed Leaning Birdcage - Love this deco item! But the colors were too bright for the room I was making, and I felt the black cage was just too black so I went with an old rusted metal and changed up some deco items to fit into my room Hanging Chain Deco - Love the original, and mostly only recolored because I wanted it to not "snap" to the wall if it was close, so I could put it anywhere, and I didn't care for the black being so black so I changed it to a brushed nickle texture and some of the baubles to gold, also the clip for the pic is wood originally but I wanted it metal (hard to tell those difference in these pics tho) Old Washtub Ottoman - I loved this original and unique creation! But, all the chair cushion colors were bright flowers, couldn't have that in my relaxing neutral bedroom, also I changed the washtub's texture to a more rusted steel (again, hard to tell in these pics with my crappy in game lighting) And, that's all she wrote! The 2 flowers in the screenshot I also recolored but not enough of a difference to take a side by side comparison shot, mostly they were just to tone down the brightness of some colors and to add some shine to a vase, also, the flowers on the nightstand were originally made to hang on the wall, I wanted to be able to sit them down without them wanting to "snap" to the wall, so I changed that too EDIT: I just noticed I didn't mention the blanket on the bed, that was also recolored by me.

Hi all you awesome and amazingly talented creators!
I'm was wondering if there is anybody who would be willing to make a few simple meshes for me. (Or at least in my unskilled mind, they would be simple lol)
I am in need of a very small painting or a simple thin box even, no frame, think canvas painting. It doesn't have to have all the fancy "canvasy" back on it, because truthfully I'm using it for small distressed wood artwork. The size would be about an 6"x6" square in RL. Even the smallest EA canvas painting is too large for what I have in mind.
The other thing I'm looking for is a simple long thin painting, board, box, however you want to call it. Again, nothing fancy I just wanted to create some wood "pallet" signs. So in reference to RL sizing, I'm thinking like what a normal 1"x4"24" board would be. I'm fine with it being an entire wall panel wide if that's easier.
Thanks in advance for any consideration of my request!
Ohhhh, I had one more, but it seems like it would be a little more complicated.
I was looking for "fake" leaning windows, based on the leaning painting, but with window panes, no glass, like old repurposed windows they use in decorating. I'm trying to find things that I have in my RL house.
Anyway ... thanks again!

Hi all, I'm just learning to recolor objects for TS4 and wanted to replicate my own RL living room. In TS2 I had a sofa that was almost exactly the same (with the exception that mine is leather bone colored and has a tufted back) as my RL sofa. The sofas were called HS-Mallory Sofas. Does anybody know of something similar in shape (hopefully by a creator that allows recolors) or of a conversion of this same sofa? Thanks in advance for any help!
