They honestly look pretty good! Better than most things I can make from scratch! It's a good start, just keep refining the meshes

Okay, I'm at home now (was replying from work earlier), so I can give this my proper attention I've done a LOT of conversions from TS3, so I think I can help you! First thing- you said in your first post that you can't open .sims3pack files using TSR Workshop- that's actually not true, you CAN open them with TSR Workshop When you start the Workshop, click on Create New Project. Select the last option, New Import (the icon is a box) and select Next. Click on the Browse button, and then where it says "File Type", change the drop-down box so it says .sims3pack. Find your file and open it, and when it asks if the .package file is a Sims 4 file say No (obviously). Click the arrows and it'll eventually finish and open the file in the Workshop. I was able to open the sims3pack that you linked above perfectly fine. Here's a screenshot of it: Like I stated above, generally speaking- the only textures you'll find are the grey maps (in the screenshot above, you'll see it's called a multiplier). The other .package file you posted (with the pillows) has those textures because that's the way the original creator made them; they were designed to display those images OVER the Create-A-Style colors the Sims 3 user picked. They are overlay images, like I also mentioned above. So, the pillow has the Overlay image, but there's also that grey multiplier as well, which would be used to color the pillows. See what I mean?: See how the screenshot has those images in the Overlay tab? Most Sims 3 objects won't have an overlay- generally, they all have the grey mulitplier/texture map. Or the overlay might be just a tiny part of the overall texture. Recoloring the converted daybed so that it looks similar to the original one is up to you. You can do so using whatever methods you'd like, but I personally use Photoshop, use the grey multiplier layer as the bottom template, then create new layers over that to create the effect/coloring I want. There are tons of recoloring tutorials out there and you probably already know how to recolor things, so I won't bore you about that. But yeah, when converting from TS3, you usually need to make your own recolors...because it was a bit different than TS2 and TS4 as far as texture maps go (because of Create-A-Style). There's another way you can find if there was ever a colored texture map, though- if you go to the Mesh tab in TSR Workshop, then click on "material", it'll take you to the Material Editor. Click on Diffuse Map, and sometimes, if you're lucky, you might see a colored image there of what the original item looks like in-game. I haven't found a way to extract that image from TSR Workshop (maybe someone here knows how?), but you can use that image as a guide for your own recolors, or, if you're really a bit lazy, you can take a screenshot and then crop the image and use it for your recolor (it'll be really low-quality, though). Here's a screenshot example of what I mean, using an object from TS3: Anyway, I already checked your daybed for such a thing and it's not there. So you'll need to use the grey texture, and recolor it your own way, using a 2D photo editor. I hope that helps you and hope it wasn't too much information Like I said, I've done a lot of conversions, so I can probably do this in my sleep by now, lol. Feel free to ask more questions if you have them!

I'm not sure what you meant about the diffuse- it looks fine/correct to me? Sims 3 files have a grey diffuse, usually- you have to recolor them yourself using a photo editor (sometimes there might be an overlay image but that's pretty rare). I think they're like this because of Create-A-Style. Also, for what it's worth, someone has already converted this same bed: sssvitlans.tumblr.com/post/127619829294/woohooty-3t4-daybed-by-zinny-winterpondDoesn't mean you can't convert it too, but just thought I'd let you know!

I didn't look at your blend, because I've never made or converted a fridge, but I just had a similar issue with a toy box, and I believe brujah is right; it's due to the mesh not being in the right place in Blender. I went into Blender and moved my mesh back where the pivot point (rig) was and it fixed the issue- see the before/after to see how our issues were similar. I think fixing that will fix your fridge mesh! Thanks for the info, brujah! Before...notice the gaps in the back of the toybox, similar to the gap in your fridge. After...I moved the mesh in Blender so it was flush with the rig. No more gap!

You're in luck, because I did have this same problem with SimPe and the Ultimate Collection, hehe. I'm pretty sure I fixed it using the methods described here. For what it's worth, when you're searching for items in the Object Workshop, you have to have the exact title of the original object (and even use quotes if the original title did). For example, if you're looking for these chimes, you couldn't search "chimes" in the Object Workshop window...you literally have to search "Immobile Mobile" for them to come up. Just a tip for you when you get around to converting Let me know if you need any more help!

Hmmm Mathcope , you may be on to something! I'll give that a try! Edit: Yes, that fixed it! Thank you! Now I can fix any other meshes I've seen this happen to, hehe :D

Nope, and nope, haha. It happens on both the item I sent you and a regular base game sculpture clone. It's not a plant and I didn't edit anything other than bump/spec maps. But this happens with several items, usually conversions, and only in laptop mode. It's odd :(

Here's the .package file I'm working on now that I'm having the issue with: simfileshare.net/download/208531/I only have issues with it in laptop mode, and when I place it inside a room...then the texture goes dark. It's odd. But not the first time I've seen it happen on an object with the correct image sizes.

Sorry to bump an old thread, but I've noticed this issue again, except sometimes it still happens with objects that have the right resolution (256x256, for example). Is there any other reason it could be happening or any other way to fix it?

Thanks again for your help, Laura! But you won't believe this...last night after I posted, I was fooling around with debug items, and I found a debug chapstick that has two textures/groups and used that instead, hahaha. But now I know how to remove transparency as well, so thank you very much :-*

Okay, I'm not having any luck doing to backwards from the tutorial :( The object I used doesn't seem to have all the same entries in the Model LOD. Here's the package file in case you can have a look.
Really, I'm being a bit lazy...I could just make the object into one group, but I don't want to remap the second part of it (it's kinda tricky) and would prefer to use something that already has two textures...but I don't need a transparent texture, and when I try it in game it looks weird. I also tried it with a bed mesh and it looked weird too :(
ETA: Removed download link!
