Really late reply, don't know if you fixed this yet or not, but one thing I found that helped for my game was to turn off Origin-In Game. To do this, open Origin, right click on The Sims 4 in your game library, and click Game Properties. You will see a little tick box that says "Enable Origin In Game for The Sims 4." Untick it. That really helped for me; my game was laggy and choppy prior to doing that a few months ago, now it runs smooth even in windowed mode and with a bunch of programs running (usually Sims4Studio and Photoshop, haha ).

Currently, Studio has this option available for objects but not for CAS. If you're interested in testing out an option for it in CAS that can be arranged. Really? I'd absolutely love to, that'd be great :D :D :D Thank you orangemittens

Bumping this up for help. I've made a bit of progress in the sense that I *think* I know how to create my own tag now and add it to the game, however, I don't know how to attach a custom tag to the CAS Part resource in the warehouse. I see that we can edit tags in the warehouse section, but Sims4Studio only allows the option to use pre-existing tags, not write in new ones. I've tried also exporting the file to edit in notepad or another program, but it exports as a .binary file, which I don't know how to edit or open.
Is there any way of editing the CAS Part resource manually?

Hi everyone! I'm working on a custom career, and I'd like to be able to make a new uniform for it. I'm planning to use the existing base game clothes, and piece them together for my outfit/uniform. I figured the best/easiest way to go about this would be to create a new uniform tag (i.e. "Uniform_Model") but I have no idea how to do this. I tried looking at the resource for a shirt I wanted to use. There is a "Tags" section there, but all I can do is pick from the existing tags in the drop down menu. Does anyone know how I could go about creating a completely new tag?

Thanks for a great mod. I wanted to report a minor problem. If I host a baby shower for a sim in a different house, and i get the objective "Share big news" I can't complete it because I don't control the pregnant sim. I figured I'd mention this just in case you didn't already know. Thanks for the kind words :D Yes, I am aware of that The party is really designed for the pregnant sim to throw it, so the goals are mostly for that scenario. If you do it the other way, that's fine, but you might not get gold. That's just the way it is, unfortunately; I can't change the goals so that they only come up depending on who's throwing the party or anything that advanced, the game itself just doesn't work that way

So, at this point, I've made about 4 mods...I always use S4S as my main tool, but I've also used the XML File Finder and S4PE for extracting .xml and .data files, respectively. Someone mentioned to me that you could use S4S to extract the xml files, something I already realized, but I thought it was a bit easier to use the XML File Finder because I'm used to it now. I decided to check it out, and lo and behold...S4S will bring not only the .xml file up, but its associated .data file. How amazing is that?! I thought I'd share for any other modders who might not have realized it. S4S is really an amazing tool...I think I can officially cut the other programs out and do 100% of my modding with S4S! :D Now, to start over again with this custom career I'm working on...last night it kept making the Career UI show up blank

Just guessing, but I'd assume that it's done through the GameplayLockedDescription and GameplayUnlockedDescriptionKey in the Common Section of the Object Catalog. Yes, Anska, that was exactly what I was looking for! Thank you so much <3

How do we go about doing the reverse: making a regular object locked? For example, I'm adding in some objects for my next custom event, and I want them to be locked until someone wins Gold at the party. How would I go about doing that?

Hi guys, I'm back again with another custom event mod. This one gives your teen sims the ability to throw and attend a prom. You can invite 40 teens from your game to come and party with you, and there's a new party role: Chaperone (for YA and older Sims). Prom can be thrown on Generic lots, so you won't have to deal with random Sims you didn't invite showing up and ruining the party The event also comes with a ton of buffs/moodlets, custom rewards, custom goals, and a venue made by me for you to throw your prom at. Hope you enjoy! :D You can view more screenshots, find out more info and download the mod and venue here!

This is so cool! I'll definitely need to host baby shower event when my sims get pregnant. Do you think this mod needs updating for patches? Thank you so much! I hope you have a nice baby shower :D I'm not sure about patches, really...probably only if they change the way custom events work in-game, which I can't really imagine...but I'll keep on top of it and make sure if it needs updating :D

I hope you guys enjoy it and let me know if you like the mod! I'm planning on making another custom party/event type next, which will be a Prom event for teens :D That's awesome. where can i follow up and subscribe to updates on this prom event? Hi there! Thanks for the interest! :D You can follow me on Tumblr or on my website. Tumblr is where I will post frequent updates and WIP pictures, etc. I had a LOT of trouble getting the prom event to work this weekend, but finally had a breakthrough earlier today, so I can say it'll be out very soon, no real ETA yet though BTW, I also saw the notification from your Tweet- did you delete it? Anyway, to answer your question, there's no real tutorial on creating custom events, YET, but a lot of people have asked me about it, so I do plan on attempting to make a tutorial eventually. At the very least, maybe a basic outline of how it's done. It can be very complicated and time consuming, so it'll be hard to go over every little thing, but I'll try If you want to start now, my advice is to look at the xml tuning for the Situation House Party and have a look at the basics of how events work in TS4. You can also look at the .package file of my Baby Shower mod and see how I did things...that might give you a bit of an idea

Oo, what a great idea and your already working on a prom event thats fantastic Thank you for sharing, I think most of creating in the sims require's patience and I don't have a lot of it lol Good work! Haha, trust me, I definitely understand not having patience. It's insane how one little thing will mess up the entire mod...I've spent almost my entire weekend wanting to jump off a cliff due to the prom mod...but finally got it working correctly today :D Hopefully it'll be up soon <3
