need warning save b4 exit/cancel. Agreed, a dialog box like "you have unsaved changes, are you sure you want to exit" would be nice - I've lost count of the number of times I've saved something and then exited and wondered if I'd really saved, as well as the number of times I think I've saved and then realise I actually hadn't.

Hi Novalore40, if I'm understanding you correctly you want the thumbnail list to show pictures of CC when you choose to recolor CC. In order for Studio to have a thumbnail for a CC item, you first need to look at the item and all its swatches in the game. Studio loads the thumbnail list based on the cache. If no thumbnail is generated it will only be able to show you a default plumbob. If that isn't what you mean could you explain a bit more?
Hi lindsayskillings, I'll put it on the list of things to look into.
Hi ingejones, I think the closest thing Studio has to something like that would be the list in the first post of this thread, the version updates list (which gets cleared once a version is "retired"), and the tutorial/documentation index. If the question is a specific one uncovered in those places the Creator Help section is a good place to post.
Hi funboysims, a model in the My CC viewer is on the list and hopefully will be in the beta series that follows the Jackpot series.
Hi fuyaya, that is a really cute idea. I'll put it on the list of things to look into.
Hi simshout,Es, anska, phyre and icemunmun the ability to work with geostate items is on the list. I can't give an ETA on that yet.
Hi simsontherope, remussirion, and miriah, I'll put these batch-fixes on the list.
Hi SimmaFierce, I'm not sure what you mean by a list of the super affordance lines that we need to switch up items. Could you explain that a bit?
Hi jmc2106, I'm not sure exactly what you mean but it sounds like your game isn't caching your thumbnails or, at least, not all of them. It's difficult to know why that's happening but unless it's a problem specifically related to a particular issue in a .package it isn't something that can be fixed using a batch-fixer. All a batch-fixer can do is modify the code within .packages.
Hi pixelswirl, I've added that to the list.
Hi Feyona, its possible at some point in the future we could look into that. At this point when poses get additional work it will be aimed at addressing current issues rather than adding new features though.
Hi leiw, dany2550, and velvetufo, it won't be long now.
Hi simseline, that is on the list.
Hi amoebae, I'll add that to the list.
Hi kodek, Studio is able to generate clip headers but the method isn't intuitive. A tutorial demonstrating how to make anims is in progress but hung up by game glitches and real life busy-ness. At some point there will be time to get a tutorial out and also improve the process.
Hi again Feyona, improved sorting and filing of CC is on the list.
Hi brittpinkiesims and simshout, you can edit the String Tables (STBLs is short for string tables) in the Warehouse.
Hi menaceman44, I've added that to the list.
Hi blade and sparrows, an optional nag screen will be added at some point in the future.
Hi bakie, where an effect shows up in relation to its actual placement is not consistent. This means that there is no general "rule" to teach Studio so that the viewer can compensate for each effect's idiosyncratic point of deployment.

Hi brittpinkiesims and simshout, you can edit the String Tables (STBLs is short for string tables) in the Warehouse. We can?! Maybe I'm being dense, but I can't figure out how. If I clink on the STBL file, and go to the "Text" tab, I'm not able to edit it.OMG, I just figured it out...you have to click on Edit Items, under the Entries section! Holy poo! I had no idea, now I can do everything in S4S, hehe :D :D

OM thank you for taking a time to answer all questions. Hopefully S4S team will get a time one day for developing and including pose previewer in the program. I have another question. If it's possible to create a batch fixer customizer for CAS items? Let's say user has all his/hers content sorted by folders and wants to fix how this content assigned to gender etc. Is it possible to choose all the options for batch fix, choose the folder with CC for fixing and run batch fixer? I got a bunch of CC that stopped showing in the game because it lost tags starting from clothes category tags and feminine/masculine tags and ending that it disappeared from everyday outfit category (I have over 30 lipsticks that disappeared from that category) and lost age appropriate tag (and disappeared from CAs as well). And screenshots what batch fixer would looked like.

It'd be super neat if it was possible to have a batch fix to make all your CC HQ Mod compatible! Like changing all the textures to HQ textures!

Am I allowed to post an idea for this actual forum/blog thing?? I know that this thread is about S4S but I wanted to suggest an idea for the actual website.

Could you guys make it so that when you copy a slot any rotations with that slot copy as well? Would save a lot of time - rotations are the worst! Oh, and I still can't find those doughnuts that were missing in buydebug...I know it's not super important in the grand scheme of things...just want to make some deco copies of them. Thanks!

Hi mahoushoujosims and iandy914, because of the complexity of the (fairly new) gender system for CAS, I'm not 100% sure what either of you is asking for. I think the best way to explain what you mean would be this: select a .package that has the gender tags done how you do not want them. Copy that .package and name it with the same name except add something like the word FIXED to the name. Open that renamed copy and fix the tags using My CC so that they are how you prefer them to be. Bundle up the unfixed and fixed version in a .rar and PM it to me. In this way, I can see exactly what's wanted. Also, the example you send should reflect the "before tags" of all the CC items you want to batch-fix and the "after characteristics" you would want all such CC items to end up having. Hi GeometricSims, yes Hi BrazenLotus, rotations are indeed a PIA. Having them copied to the slot resource from the rig resource automatically is on the list of things to do. The issue with the doughnuts is that they are debug items that all share the same prototype ID. From Studio's perspective, that makes the doughnuts like different swatches for a single doughnut rather than being multiple individual doughnuts. For this reason, if you clone the doughnut as a 3D mesh, you will only find one doughnut on the debug thumbnail list. The way for you to get all the doughnut textures/tunings you need to clone the item in the same way you would to get all swatches for a standard item. These cloning options include recolor, selective clone, and object override clone. Any of those cloning methods will give you all the "swatches" which include both the textures and tuning ID's for the various doughnuts. Search for the plain doughnut to find them all as it is the first "swatch" with the prototype ID all the doughnuts share.

Okay, I see what you are saying. I still can't find those round filled cereal covered ones. I even checked the salmon croquettes because they look the same to no avail. I think they were new with Dine Out update.

I'd love to be able to properly override custom content items in my game like we can for in-game items

Hi Spirashun , I'm not sure what you mean. If you want to change the in-game characteristics of a CC item, all you have to do is open the .package using the My Projects button and edit it directly.

Hi simsation20 , Sims 4 Studio has a Mac version that is in beta testing. Everyone is welcome to download it. The download is HERE. Hi Spirashun , I'm not sure what you mean. If you want to change the in-game characteristics of a CC item, all you have to do is open the .package using the My Projects button and edit it directly. Yes that's true, but for example I wanted to make a CC object usable via tuning but just had to make a copy that required the original, causing people to have two copies of the same item in their catalogs. I'd like to able to just upload an override that alters the original itself, or create an override that hides the original item in the catalog, so there won't be two copies of the same item. Hopefully that makes sense!

Oh okay, so is this site allowed to have a live chat box? It would be super cool to share ideas and help other creators who are in urgent need, or to just chat to the creators we love
