I don't understand why I need to merge it with sunglasses to achieve this effect. I've already got the model and UV map all set up, I don't want to do it all again with something else involved...
That tutorial is also very dated and the screenshots aren't the best, I can't even tell if the end result is what I'm looking for because they didn't actually bother to provide a picture of the end result.

I'm guessing if I copy everything here from the gem (on the right) to my CAS item (on the left) it'll do this, but is that accurate? I've already tried simply changing the shader of the CAS item to a few things but most don't really change anything or make the item invisible. I want it to be shiny, but not with the ugly spotty specular map that you normally get, because the item is large enough for it to look bad. I want it to look reflective on each surface, like a gemstone does, or look like glass. Also, I found a post from 2015 claiming that previewing this sort of thing right in S4S was planned. Is that still planned?

Just make her sad and have her make a sad painting

That mod is how I learned to do it in the first place, they did the same things I'm doing. That page explains how to do it yourself.
If that mod contained all the worlds I'd just modify their file, but it is vastly outdated. Updating it is my goal.

The menu doesn't show the new names for me in a new game, either...what the heck. :( It needs to work for saved games in the first place, anyway...

It's English, that's why I didn't bother with other languages.

I opened the String Tables file from Sims4/Data/Client and used the String Table Lookup to find the names of the worlds. I added them all to a package, changed them, and saved the package. This is all I should need to do to edit the world names, but it doesn't work in-game. I tested it by itself and it's not a mod conflict. www.mediafire.com/file/22gjnokibnotwhz/RenamedWorlds.package/fileWhat am I doing wrong? Edit: Del Sol Valley properly changes to "Sunset Valley" in an older save file but not a new one. :v Nothing else changes.

I can't find "the relevant tutorial". That's not a very descriptive...er, description. What is it called?

Simple stuff- I downloaded a CC body clothing, I modified it in blender, I import it over the original, it looks fine in S4S, but in-game the mesh isn't actually updated. I'm not sure what I could possibly be doing wrong here. Literally all I'm doing is using the sculpt tool in blender to make part of the mesh bigger, no major changes.
If it means anything, the catalog options are also not updating. I'm changing them, but they are not reflected in-game. They are reflected in the package, obviously.

Without actually categorizing it as one?
items selected as a body part- eyebrows, scars, tattoos, etc- persist across all outfits including nude and career.
This is very useful for specialty sims who use things like horns and animal ears. But, doing that requires using one of those slots for those items, meaning you can no longer use those items. If you assign something as "right arm tattoo" you can thus never equip any actual right arm tattoos, for example.
Is there information in an item that flags it this way? Or is it "built in" to those types of items exclusively? As in, can an item outside of those categories be told to persist across all outfits?
If there was a way to use an unlimited number of items I'm sure we'd have it by now (Sims 3 got it quite late in its lifespan, but that was via awesomemod or some such, one of those things made by modders who decided to ignore Sims 4 entirely, so we don't have their help this time around). So this is my alternative that I hope is in some way possible.

Ah! I figured it out, maybe! When using multiedit, there's a separate EXIT button you have to use. This pits all the parts back where they were with no dupes- the only thing you have to change is the cut numbers again, as they all reset to whatever the most recently selected part was before engaging multiedit. The mesh is worse this time... And it completely breaks with boots? But it's for personal use so i dont really care!

Alright, I tried, and while I'm sure it would have worked, I mis-deleted part of one piece and would have to literally start over from where I was when I made this thread to redo it. It's too much of a pain in the ass to bother. I'll just restart completely. Now my problem is how the hell do I modify a full mesh broken into 4 pieces so that each piece remains aligned with each other? This is so freaking frustrating. I refuse to believe there's no way to do a bulk edit at once without having to create entirely new pieces or make a single one-piece mesh to do so, computers and technology are way too advanced for this to be a set-in-stone thing you have to do.

ohhh, I see. So I can literally just turn them on and off to compare what needs to be cut off and do it that way if need be (I have astigmatism in both eyes and trying to count vertices by row without messing up is going to be tough). I'll try that.

I don't understand what I'm doing. They all say Cut 002, no matter what I select. And by count the vertices you don't mean literally count the number of vertices, right? Like by hand?
I think it would be easier for me to go in and just start over. I don't understand how to do that, though, because if I have to modify each part individually they obviously become misaligned... this is hard
